Pornographic games utilizing 3D technology

My questiong to the devhedz out there is:
Do you all think there is a market for a 3d person adult video game for the PC?
Most of the products out there are interactive video clips. So if a product was created using a 3d engine, would you (as the game playing grognards tha you are) play, pirate, or purchase it?
If so what would be the most important features needed in such a game?
And for those of you who don't mind a poll,
In order of importance what would this product's
priority need to be?
graphics
sound
gameplay
price
fast load times
(other?)
also, would you be more likely to purchase such a product online (download), in an adult store, or online (CD)?
Thank you.

Please be more respectful of the purpose of this community and think before you type!
As for my answer to the original purpose of this post: Yes I do think that there is a market for 3d adult video games. Its all about how you sell it imo.
If its an interactive game where the story is actually conducive to the main characters success at getting sex or sexual favours then its like an adventure game (think Leisure Suit Larry)
If its a game where all you have to do is talk to a girl/guy to get sex then it would be like an action game.
If you have to sort of work your way up the ladder to get with the more prominent members of the game then it could be more like an rpg, you could allocate skill points to different sexual positions etc.
Personally I would never buy an Adult themed video game. The subject just does not interest me (which might seem contrary to my posting such a long response to a subject on the matter.)

Pornography and the Taliban are completely different entities. If you wanted to be political it might do you well to remember that America was one of, if not the first places to feature pornographic magazines (Playboy?!) Are you saying that anyone who reads playboy is inline with the Taliban? Please be more respectful of the purpose of this community and think before you type!

The game is in a graphical perspective, very very fascinating utilizing very high polygon count pre-rendered CG during cut-scenes, an interactive sex scene (oh my goodness :O), and the game plays similarly to Virtual Cop with a mixture of some simple puzzle solving adventure game. As you can see, it was not just a bundle of pretty pictures and just some facial game but a whole game by its own right.
By the grapewine, I heard it was "very" popular in Japan, and has a small underground following in some parts of the world that like anime-theme adult games.
If you ask me if there is a market for these games, I'm sure because we can assume the average male young adult gameplayer to be a horny and violent (maybe a too extreme generalization but anyway...) type of person.
Anyway, before you start even to think about working on a project like this, I would advise you to consult your pornographic laws in your country. you don't want to spend a part of your life in jail or doing community service do you ;)

Regarding Adult Games that utilize 3D technology, I would like to point out one game called Requiem, produced by this company called Illusion (http://www.illusion.jp).The game is in a graphical perspective, very very fascinating utilizing very high polygon count pre-rendered CG during cut-scenes, an interactive sex scene (oh my goodness :O), and the game plays similarly to Virtual Cop with a mixture of some simple puzzle solving adventure game. Note: Not sure about the actual numbers, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were millions of women that model for porn.

Hell, a lot of women make a lot of money from porn. I guess those tens of thousands of women don't find it too degrading, do they?Note: Not sure about the actual numbers, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were millions of women that model for porn.

to honest, this is true, my friend wants to be a porn star and work at the bunnyranch in nevada.she's like that. i also have seen AI chat programs that can actualy do cyber sex. i think your best option is to not restrict sexuallity in your games, if the player wants to be a stripper than never wheres cloths, they can do that, or to be a monstrous man with a huge 'MEMBER" then go for. and just let the game go for it's self with the porn aspect optional.rogue

Pretty normal people read the porno magazines and watch the movies - every media experience we have is a stand in for real relationships - 3D/virtual porno will be huge with out a doubt - its just as valid - what really needs to be adressed is people who have sexual relations and can't get any deeper than just mutual masturbation without caring a lick about the other - kinda touches on the theme already covered about violence is fine but naked bodies a no no

Interesting idea.

Well...I want to stay very professional about this topic, which is very controversial, and i am pretty against this kind of stuff, but from a professional point of view, the idea of a game like this could do quite well.Interesting idea.

You do realize that this thread has been dead for seven years now, right? ;P

This thead started before BMX XXX, GTA "Hot Coffee", and Mass Effect sex scene. Lately the God of War series, Dantes Inferno, and The Saboteur have included some topless characters... but thats about the worst of it.
The most raunchy and mainstream its gotten has been in Second Life which had to geographically separate all the adult content.
I think it all goes to show that there are better outlets for the most explicit of adult content than video games.

Actually longer considering the original post occured in 2001. Its interesting that in 9 years... nothing very radical has happened. This thead started before BMX XXX, GTA "Hot Coffee", and Mass Effect sex scene. Actually there has been an increase of 3D Adult Games since the turn of the century. While these are mostly created in the form of Hentai Game market, there is now MMO's for "adult entertainment". So this is indeed a market for research. After all there's pornography at ever corner of the world now, so there is defiantly a gaming market there.

Didn't really read all the replies, but there ARE lots of fully rendered 3D porn games out there. Theoretically torque would work just fine as a platform, but I doubt garage games will help you market it XD

And please, do not drag SecondLife in the mud, it's a community built by it's own residents, and thus it contains the best AND the worst of humanity, what you see in secondlife is merely what everybody is hiding under their "politically correct" mask IRL.
In term of sexually oriented games, there is Sociolotron, wich isn't really top graphics (but it's a 1 man mmo project so... respect!) but is an example of a game that mesh sexuality directly into the game, without being solely about that.
We do lack of REAL games with a proper sexual content, the only one i've seen doing it right recently is fallout3 and that's only because fan made addons made it possible.
@Christopher Lee , Yeah i don't expect Garage Games to have the "balls" to see the potential publicity stunt behind it. But hey, any publicity is good publicity.

Not true at all, which is why not every company out there pulls publicity stunts. The truth is that people get offended at things, and some of those people tend to leave and take their money with them. If GG went out and pimped the games that have been made on their engine which are of adult nature (I'm aware of at least one), then they face the prospect of losing a portion of their aduience. Do the math and you'll find that it's not worth it.

Best order:
Gameplay
Graphics
Sound
...and the rest you choose!
As for the game itself, just make sure that it is enjoyable to whoever plays it, I've seen plenty that sucked! Also have a good security plan for it, people won't want their kids getting ahold of it. My last tip is at the bottom, could help you double it's sell value!
Good luck on making it happen:-)
Now, as for some people above stating that-
"...these are degrading to women..."
No, hardly! In fact, try visiting a male strip joint (anyone seen The Full Monty?) Women are more enticed by love, romance, a sexy body, and yes mad sex!
My biggest tip here - release 2 copies, one for men, the other for women, and make sure they can work together. Sexualy satisfying? You hope!
As for personal - I don't use porn, but I don't mind it, it's just another stimulus for the human mind, as much as any other art form, just it's considered tasteless by half the people you ask... The other half being again split by the people who have morals and lie and by those of us who enjoy what we like and don't bother with the rest.
Argue that!
