Anyway, isn't it funny how gratuitous violence in games such as Doom, Quake, Tribes 2 is ok and a little sex is disgusting and childish.

One could say that running around shooting people in games is a childish response to getting picked on your entire life.

I can turn on the TV at 6pm and see 4 or 5 people die in a matter of 5 minutes, but not a single breast. If you don't see the hypocrisy, then you are either blind or a victim of a lowsy school system.

Back to topic. The game would sell like hotcakes. Check out the PDA market and you'll see that many of the Strip Poker, Blackjack, and Memory games are doing amazingly well.

Would I buy it? Nope. Cartoon nudity doesn't do much for me. It would have to be compelling, kinda like GTA3, which is an excellent model for mainstreaming the fringe. Lotsa violence, sex, pimps, drugs, and crime in one of the most playable and deep games to have ever been released.

so, i'm voicing my opinion:
i have to agree if you feel this need to view nudity get a girlfriend.
and I disagree entirely that the US is uncomfortable about sex; just turn on your tv and go to a music video channel.
now, if people really are desperate enough for sexual attention or nudity to go buy a game I think they need to step outside and breathe in some fresh air and stop smoking whatever it is they are on.

and no i'm not saying this because of my "puritan upbringing" i'm saying this because I believe strongly against it and feel it has no place in games.

#31 I personally think that if well made, there will be a market for them. What I hate about BMX XXX is that they tried to sell on shock value alone, then had the nerve to compare it to Grand Theft Auto 3 when:

A). GTA3 had NO nudity and only some sexual references
B). GTA3 wasn't about the shock value (atleast true fans realized this).

By all means, if they wanna make them, I say they should, but when they try to develop aimlessly in the shadow of a game that isn't even related, then get pissed off when people talk of not selling their game, and try to call them hippocrits for selling GTA3... That just kinda pissed me off..

#32 My view on this topic is that sex is not bad, a sin, or the end of the world, its a good thing except for some sides: Rape, Sexual Harrassment and Prostitution. To put sex in a game is kinda tricky, its not against the law but it goes against of some of the customer morals like: Purity or Sex after marriage, etc. So in the end its really up to the dev. to decide whether to put porn in their games or not, but if you think that if you put a 'm' or 'a' rating on it it'll be okay? You're crazy. There is no way a Porn game is not getting into the hands of some immature kid, thats were the customer gets mean, they're suppose to teach their kids about sex not some Pornographic game.
Now if you do how much content is the question. Very little by the Earlier mentioned GTA:VC? or a full blown Porn Film to Game with the Cheesy music? Like I said its up to you, but be warned POP culture now frowns on Kids having access to an Uneducational Source of sex.

#33 The only sites on the Internet that are making a lot of profit are the porn sites - so, yes, I think a pornographic game would be a big seller. That doesn't mean I understand why - I have a wonderfully sexual relationship with a beautiful girl and cannot fathom the attraction of anything but the real thing.

On the other hand, I do enjoy first-person shooters, because I am not about to go out and experience the real thing. Having good sex is a lovely thing to do (especially in a warm, loving relationship) - killing people with a BFG is socially unacceptable.

Whereas I would not be a customer for a porno game, I have no moral stand against it as long as it is sex with consenting adults. If you put out a game that involves rape and glorifies that atrocity in any way, I would condemn you in every way possible.

My condemnation of violence against women may sound hypocritical in the light of my occasional use of first-person shooter games; however, I take a strong stance against games (or movies) that condone violent acts against helpless victims (especially female victims, as I was brought up to be a gentleman). In first-person shooters, I am pitting myself against equally armed opponents.

Let's have fun with our games, but let's also show some responsibility in the products we develope.

any how with the idea of pornographic games i belive that there is an audience for these types of games aslong as they are tastefull and don't promote rape or other sex crimes.

if any one is really interested in makeing these types of games you should check out the old lesiure suite larry games, i think serria published them. they were done in a tastefull manner and were quite well done.

Also not all do find this view. Pronographic material is aimed at those who are interested in it. As per say the say as you would aim a FPS game to the FPS community. because what is the point to aim sometime to those who will disguard it as pointless and downgrade it at once.

So just because some people dislike something, doesn't mean others can't have it. As I'm sure you'll find that there is alot of money to be made in these category. And this world seems to find money very important!

#39 People think porn and sexual glorification is degrading to women. Keep in mind that men are more visually stimulated than women. This is not sexist, it is a truth. Men and women ARE different. So aiming porn at showing the female form and not so much at the male is just because more men watch porn than women. As a result, the females are shown in porn, take on prostitution roles and all that because, generally speaking, you'll find more males that think of sex as a casual act than females, and therefore find pleasure in porn and prostitution.

Degrading? No, not really. Women who take part in porn, or stripping, or prostitution, or whatever, do so voluntarily (Rape and sexual coersion aside). So the only ones that should be concerned are those that take part in it. And since they aren't there shouldn't be a problem.

It all goes back to this basic idea: If you don't like something, that is your right. Trying to take something away from someone simply because you don't like it, however, isn't fair to those that do enjoy it. So if you don't like it..don't take part.

Therefore, the market is open for porn games I think. Those people who don't like it shouldn't buy it..then they won't be offended. Those that do, will.
