#5 Actually, you could take a look at the Japanese adult game (called "H" or "Hentai" games) market. They have a large, old (since the DOS days) and well-supported market with some truly talented developers now.

For starters, you could look at Illusion (www.illusion.co.jp), which is currently the industry leader of 3D H games in Japan.

Or for a web magazine with reviews & previews of all H games either currently on the market or under development, you can take a look at http://www.getchu.com

And just thinking of it, it wouldn't be that hard, just have to make really good models etc. Everything else would be pretty easy I think.

#12 I have some very mixed feelings about this topic... on one side I feel that it is pretty disgusting and I generaly look down on perverts (I wouldnt call it childish, there are plenty of dirty old men)... but on the other hand it would be a good investment, I'm sure a game like this would sell pretty damn good, so if your just looking for money then this seems like a really good idea (that is assuming your willing to turn your name to mudd). It's kinda one of those old sell your soul to the devil dilema's, you could probably make a bit of money with this, but you might not be able to look at yourself in the mirror. I say, if you are a horrible person and really dont have a moral concious and doing something like this really wouldnt bother you (if so dont feel bad, most people are like this anyway), then go for it, seems like a good idea... but I wouldnt go around telling all your freinds and family what your doing... I know I probably wouldnt associate with someone doing something like this

BTW, I do have to admit that this isnt as bad as real porn, at least this wont involve two strangers being payed to have sex with each other... that eases the old moral concience a little ;)

WE DON'T CARE what you think about it unless you are being constructive and following the topic of this thread. If I came into a thread of yours and told you that your game sucked because I didn't like it, I would look like a moron huh? We all know who *really* needs to grow up and get a life. Mind your own damn business. If you want to start a discussion of *why* porn is bad and evil, then make your own damn thread.

#15 I remember hearing about some sort of sex paripharal that hooks up to your computer. I imagine that a porn game that took advantage of that would probably be very tempting to anyone with that product. Who knows, you might even be able to get some sort of packaging deal. Of course, if you were to support that, make sure the game will still run without it.

I'd look for it now, but I'm at the IGC, and I'm sure everyone will be wondering when I descend into the (inevitable) porn hits while looking.

#17 With these things inserted into your retail box, you will erect a very solid business and fill your pockets with gobs of money, especially when your sales reach a climax. Its hard work but very satisying in the end. I think with this sort of product, most of the publicity will come orally, friends playing with other friend's boxes and purchasing a copy for themselves.

anyway, josh, I also come from a little place called america as well, and I gotta say that your argument is pretty flawed, first off theres the fact that their is plenty of sex in movies and tv already, the only difference is that normal american media (to avoid getting stern ratings) has an extra 10 square inches of fabric around a few key areas... cant you just use your imagination? and as for there being tons of violence and no sex.... thats simply not true, there is just about as much of one as the other, just neither are very graphic... for instance when was the last time you realisticly saw someone murdered on tv? its usualy someone getting shot, then a little red dye on their shirt and wala their dead, thats the violecne equivalent to friends where they start kissing and taking off their shirts as they run into the bedroom... now do you see why we dont like porn? its because porn is real, wherease the violecne we are used to is not, you really cant compare the two, how do you think people would react to a movie which had someone really getting shot in the head, showing their skull tear in half and peices of their brain lying next to them while they soak in their own blood, a real human being getting murdered in front of them... that would bother people, and so would two human beings in real life actualy having sex with each other. Also your argument that Europeans are open with sex seems pretty childish "well the Europeans are perverts, therefore we should get to be too", thats like saying "well the people in afganistan get to abuse women and kill people, we should get to as well!" ya man, you shouldnt stive to follow the least moral societies, you should strive to follow those with the highest morals. I've actualy thought about this topic a bit more and decided that maybe its not so bad, since it will not actualy be real, I dont think I'd buy this game, but I guess I dont really see anything wrong with it. There is a strong line between reality and make believe, as long as the production of this game doesnt result in real people having sex for video capture or whatever then I dont really think theres much wrong with it. Oh well, no one really cares what I think about it anyway, just do whatever you want, this is America, thats what people are going to do anyway.

Your entire argument is based on the flawed concept that 'sex is bad'. You should think about that position for a while, and see if it makes any sense to you.

As for the Europeans, the point you missed is that they don't have the same hangups about their bodies that our Puritan forefathers left us with. Taking a sauna together is natural and not sexual, perhaps you should ask yourself why you read 'sex' into taking a sauna.

For your benefit, I will simplify this for you. Violence is bad because it harms other people. That seems clear enough, you don't have the right to hurt another person. People having sex doesn't hurt anybody. It's natural and healthy. Mutual consent and enjoyment. It's about as bad and wrong as playing Basketball with your friends.

Don't let others make your moral decisions for you, think for yourself. I repeat, think for yourself. Have reasons for the positions you take, reasons that make logical sense.

I'm actually hoping you go through with this not because of hopes to see some porno but because I would be very curious to see this actually implemented into a fun game design. I've seen some alleged porn games before but they're all pretty lame and just use the nudity/sex as a novelty selling point, I wanna see someone make something fun outta this just cause I think it would kick ass if someone pulled it off in a fully interactive 3d world.
