Terrain Bitmap Location

Hi. Did a forum search for 'terrain bitmap' but didn't find much.

I was just wondering where a file for the the Bitmap Operation for the terraform editor goes? I'm guessing it's a greyscale BMP and not a PNG?

Is there a tutorial on this someone could point me to?

Search for "terrains" next time. Here is the only tutorials I could come up with for now... www.garagegames.com/index.php?sec=mg&mod=resource&page=category&qid=146 hope this helps. I know there is more out there about it... can't remember where I saw them.
