Awarding People

Hello Everybody,
Well I have to say that the GG community is great and I am really enjoying my time here. I would like to thank everybody including the gg people for all the help that you have suplied. Now I have a chance to complete a game project. As an Indie that is almost impossible and its really nice to see people actually doing it here. Anyway, thats not the point so I will get to it.
I would like to recommend some kind of awarding of some sort or at least some recognition. Perhaps a page that lists the person of the month. The reson why I say that is if you start looking at peoples contributions you soon start to see how much people have contributed. That aside from the people that work for GG.
Melv, Erik and Thjis just to name a few. If I missed someone I am sorry, I am new and I have only run into a few people but checking there contributions says a lot about what they are doing for GG.
What do you guys think. We all know people here that really deserve some recognition for there contribution.
Later, Ben
ps. I would also like to take this time to mention Alex and Robert for there hard work on the document project. People are wanting it and they are doing it for you. Thank you is in order. Also lets not forget Ben. He responds to a huge amount of messages and he is going to try to help me with a tutorial that I am writing.
Well there is Jeff (of course) and many others that but I have not run into them much so I don't know much about them. Keep up all the great work guys. If I make millions I will fly there and buy you guys a beer (but only one :), we want your working in the morning).

Yes, Yes, Yes! There are some people who are very active and helpful in the forums as well. Contributing docs is just as important (if not more so) than fx stuff. I do feel bad that I havent contributed any super cool resources yet and it would be nice for those who have to get some recognition somewhere. hell, if I wasnt such a broke ass student I would send $40 for beer/pizza to those folks who submit cool, tested and useful resources. I would also like to say that if you do use one of the resources in your project make sure to give credit where its due ! (in a prominent place).I too love the GG communitty...

Well its good that there are a few people that agree as for the rest of you, well :). It would be nice to do something for the people that really put a lot into the torque community. Perhaps somekind of voting system. That would be cool. Once a month thing and have a page listing all the winners.

Well, ok, I'll put up a note for PaulDana, he's not submitted resources out his ass, but anyone who idles on the irc will recognise the amount of goodwill PD's generated by just being generally helpful. So he deserves kudos there.

Oh, and Chem, who's helped out more than his fair share of artists with exporter issues too.

And let's not forget Jeff Tunnel, Mark Frohnmayer, Jay Moore, Rick Overman, and Tim Gift... For without them, this awesome community wouldn't be!!

EDIT: Sorry, Mark.. didn't realize there was an H in your last name!! :-)

Hey Phil, don't forget yourself! You and Chris Weiland have helped me MUCHO when I needed it. Plus I have to give a cheer for Melv. He hasn't helped me directly, but his code is the foundation of numerous endeavours on my part. Go guys go!And let's not forget Jeff Tunnel, Mark Frohnmayer, Jay Moore, Rick Overman, and Tim Gift... Associate Kyle Carter
Off the top of my arbitrary list, I'd like to mention Brett, who's doing some neat work with shadows, and Matthew Fairfax, who's been doing some really cool stuff with quake3 interiors for some time now, as well as being a general positive influence on the community. ;)
The list could go on and on... long may it grow!
