Compiling Torque in Windows

Dear All,
I would like to compile Torque on a freeware/cheap C/C++ compiler (i.e NOT Visual C++) on a Windows 9.x/2000.
Please could you let me know if this is possible (e.g. gnu gcc for windows or similar).
If so could you please let me know the compiler and the compilation instructions for the source code in the SDK area.
Many Thanks.

Check out MinGW for windows and the compile instructions should be in the online getting started documents. If you need any help setting up MinGW or anything let me know or come into the #garagegames channel on irc.maxgaming.net.
