Would be interested in a progress update of GORPE

It would be nice to have an update as to where GORPE development is going. There have been no updates to the website since last October.

But, over the coming months I might be able to. Hopefully someone will come along in the meantime who's a bit more GORPE savvy than I am to carry on development, but if not I might be able and willing - once I get my footing.

I've a strong interest in GORPE as well and have mailed Donovan to introduce myself. We'll see what happens I suppose since although I'm keen on using GORPE for Online RPG purposes I can't say I totally see eye-to-eye with some of the development decisions he's made (zone based world as opposed to a seamless one being the biggie). But, as it's closer to my goal than 'regular' Torque currently is it'll be high on my list to figure out what changes he's made and why. Of course, I've got to get a fair understanding first of how either works and as I've only had the source for a few days I'm hardly in any position to contribute overmuch. But, over the coming months I might be able to. I *am* in the position to contribute to the cause but I don't feel I have the time to dedicate to GORPE alone to the point where I can take over the project if J. Donovan is truely done with it.

I emailed J. Donovan a few weeks back and never got a response. I've decided to take what he's done so far and just develop from there on my own. If any more work is done with GORPE I may integrate the new code into my own work but at this point I need to get moving on my own stuff. I'm currently merging GORPE DR_1_0 into Torque_1_2_0 and will then merge in Torque HEAD. It's far from "simple" but I'm learning quite a bit about Torque and GORPE in the process.I *am* in the position to contribute to the cause but I don't feel I have the time to dedicate to GORPE alone to the point where I can take over the project if J. I talked with him via E-Mail about 2 weeks ago. He's pretty swamped with Real Life, to the point where he hasn't had time to even log on here and post an update.
