Hi!

I'm trying to compile the exporters with 3dsmax6 sdk but I just cant get it to work... Is there any pre compiled downloadeble version out there??? I'd hate to go back to 3dsmax4 just for the plugin

Unfortunately, until there is an official 3DS Max 6 exporter, the recommended solution is to use Max 4.

The exporter also works with Max 5.x, however you must use the multires version from max 4 with it.

I went looking on the sparks site for both the 5.1 and 6.0 SDK, but was unable to find them. I thought discreet provided the SDK's for free via dl.

The SDK is included on the installation CD's.

I know that much, but I do not have max6. I can get a copy of the max 5.1 SDK from the net, but unable to locate a copy of the max 6 SDK

I have a compiled version but it doesn't work worth a bean. Since you can't use the Multires from MAX4.
We are rewriting it to use Stan Melax PolyChop but its going kinda slow with everything else were doing. Plus we have to guess on the interface stuff that Multires use to put out and get it running outa polychop. There are no docks on multires. So we are just trying a hit and miss. Max has also changed alot so alot of stuff isn't working when just try to emulate the max2dts for max 4.
We want to rewrite the thing to work with the Igame interface thats new to max 6 but at the same time we don't want to isolate max5 users. So Its kind of a delima.

Maybe another couple months or so.

I was thinking of updating the exporters to be max 5.1 and 6.0 compliant, but only have max 5.1 app and SDK.

Max and I are not very good friends, kind of cluesless using it. Will make for updateing it a pain in the a$$. Does anyone have a max 5.1 file that barfs when exporting that I could snag for testing when the time comes?

Just to keep those who want to know "when" at bay, I have yet to begin the work. I have several other items on my plate that have a greater weight and demand to get completed
