3 On 3 - Team 1 Vs 11 - Championship Match

by jangles · in ThinkTanks · 02/05/2004 (3:52 pm) · 19 replies

I've been trying for a week now to get on the PTT forums. I can log on, but can't post. Very frustrating.
At least I have the ability to read the posts. Hallelujah!

RE: SCHEDULING

Tally was to amend the last post he put up for me that I would play Sunday if it came down to it. However, it looks like Tanky works that day so it will be impossible. Aside from that, Team 1 is quite open - especially at night. Which leads me to.....

@Team 11

You have some internal scheduling problems - which is completely understandable. Would it be possible for you to work it out amongst yourselves as to what time is mutually available? Not to be an ass, but the onus is really on you - not us - to get it together. I'd rather not have to go through a similar fiasco as the 2 on 2 only to be let down in the end. By no means do we want to win by default. In fact, we're really looking forward to a great match. Let's get it done!

@Tally

As commissioner, didn't you have rules about the timeline? I thought we all talked about this beforehand in order to make the tourney move quickly. None of us want this to become farcical again. Hammer time!

Having PTT up and down has been a major hassle.

Apparently Bolo has been made Team 1 spokeperson, unfortunately team 1 keeps posting "available" times that were already ruled out by team 11.
You keep mentioning that "at night" is open, however, it has been said that is not an option for team 11.
It helps to read prior posts before responding.
Not sure about "internal scheduling problems" Jangles refers to.
Jangy lets not rush to assign blame here, I think we should be mature enough not to resort to finger pointing.

I've forwarded the existence of this thread on to LC50 and Ben so hopefully communication can continue.

I don't think an "onus" can be set on anyone. That's not right. If anyone, we, as the heavy underdogs.... stop.

Maybe we just won't get it done this weekend. Hopefully that won't happen, but it doesn't look like all of us will be available at the same times. I'm sick, so times are slowly opening up for me. Maybe something will work out.

You guys realize that Dar is a kid with a set schedule, and you all, as the adults... stop.

Enough spewed. Ben.

@Baba

Thanks for the clarity and the condescension. It would help if you read the previous posts.
At night is optimal for us, but not pressing as Team 1 can put aside time from work to make this happen during the day. From what I've read, tonight - as suggested by Ben -was out because LC couldn't make it. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are out because of conflicts in Dar and LC's schedule. Sunday's the only bad day for us to make a convenient 1/2 hour time that might fit into their schedule - but it doesn't matter anyways.

Look it, Baba. I'm not "rushing to assign blame here." All I'm asking for is that Team 11 come up with an agreed time amongst themselves. Once that is determined, we can work around it. Moreover, I particularly don't want to find myself in the same position as the 2 on 2 where Tally, Tanky, and I had to chase down Ben for a month and Az disappeared. What a waste of time and effort to a tourney with no resolve.

Everyone wants to compete. But, something as simple as a team deciding their mutually available time would save everybody alot of headaches and expedite the process.

Yours truly,

Mr. Immaturity Jangles

@ all: It seems to me that LC is the one with the tougher schedule. I dont want to start an argument but team 11 seems to have more scheduling problems than team 1. I guess i am not as frustrated because i have never competed before. I am just really looking forward to the match!! As i posted on PTT i am still waiting for a mutually agreed time from team 11. Lets get it together please!! Aside... i had clark at bravetree send -z- an email using his private acct. i told him of our troubles. hopfully he will help.

@ Tally: please feel free to lay down the law. I trust your judgement.

@ Baba: Please do not get upset. I did read ALL posts when i made each additional comment. I was merely hoping that since we are facing extenuating circumstances someone could make an exception to the previously stated time posts. If you read all the posts, clearly team 11 has more of a scheduling problem than team 1. Team 1 all have competitive personalities so dont take anythig personal. We will get it worked out!!

Thanks,
bolo

Sorry for the attitude.
Just frustrated, like you, with the delay. Perhaps read more into your words than I needed to.

Great!! Thanks alot guys!

I've emailed Tanky and Bolo for confirmation and will post when I receive it.

As lag is incredibly bad for me these days, I'll go with whatever server is agreed upon by the rest of you. Any particular map(s) that you favour?

Yeah, I like Freudian too. I'm also partial to Cranium.

BTW, Tanky gets off work at 7. I spoke to LC and he suggested 8 PDT. Is that cool with the rest of you?

ALLLLL RIGHT... Lets rock and roll. So to confirm the day and time is sat 02/07/04 @ 7:30pm PST = 9:30pm Central. Is this correct??

I could do either 7:30 or 8 PM pacific. Ben and Bolo seem to have a preference for 7:30.... could Tanky make that?

Otherwise, let's stick to 8PM, as originally suggested.

Well, call the paddywagon Tally, cause the championship was fubar. We have the right to remain silent, any scrum we swipe can and will be used against us in a quart of milk.

Why has thou forsaken us, oh great -Z-? Someone give him a call and make sure he's ok.

I think we'd like to try to replay one or both games, possibly Monday at 6PM pacific. We need someone to host a server, since no one on Teams 1/11 has the right combination of bandwidth, computer muscle, and horse sense. I think it all might work out thi ...OH NO, it's THE HAMMER!!!!!!!! Please gi
