I've downloaded spazz's levels some hours ago and i was very pleased with them.Especially Up+down. Lots of fun hehe. And gravity switches were also cool.
About treasure island:i was surprised to see in that level some ideas that i also had and thinking to put into a level.
1)the idea of directions. I had thought to make a level much complicated and you'll have to follow directions that appear on screen if you go near some signs.
2)the idea of "inventory". You've got to take a power up but not use it instantly,but you have to carry it for a while and use it at another part of the level.
Anyway,i do have some good ideas left apart from these :)
These 5 levels were really good,keep up building

@MaximumSpazz,

I like your levels also, but can only try gravity switch I because I don't have MBG. Can you design some non-gold levels too, so I get more of an idea of your style? Looks like you have a fan! Did you get the group level running yet! Alex will try to fix it today.

BTW, I guess the rating system didn't go over too well, but once G.G. has more time in March, we will have an 'auto' rating system similar to the way resources are rated here! In the meantime, we can follow Alex's suggestions as per previous 'Submit for rating' topic.

Try to be patient, the builders are doing the best they can. As, I mentioned before, I appreciate, and still do, your point of view, but we must respect the other builders on this forum. Everything will get 'ironed' out eventually and the quality of levels will improve along with it.

In previous topics, we suggested a contest for the level builders. Alex mentioned the idea to Those Who Can Make It Happen(TWCMIH) and they liked the idea. So look foward to that also.

Keep building!

@All, please design more non-gold levels, for us non-gold MarbleBlasters! (I know, I should break down and buy MBG, but I really can't afford it. On a super fixed budget!).

@Solo: In regards to level building contest and level ratings - we do hope to do both of these things yet. Probably one will lead to the other. As mentioned, though, until after GDC in March we are crunching on other things and will not have time to organize.

Kostas, it's good to have a fan. It is good to see a new face on the forums with inspiration to build good epic levels.
@Solo, ya I know the rating isn't going too well. I really don't care if I don't do it, as long as someone takes charge.

Also, on the topic of my levels, I am creating a new level. It is called "Ring World". It is a really big ring in which you go around and complete the obstacles. Since I am busy with school, I think it will be ready by the weekend, maybe sooner.

Kostas, keep building!

MaximumSpazz,

@Alex,
Looking foward to it! I see our archive has made the GG news!
It's nice to get recognition for our work, but we really do it just for fun! I hope things go smoothly for you and GG. Should be a good year!

@Kostas, we all have to 'take charge.' I think this will happen faster with fraternal encouragement.

'Ring World' sounds great! I've been 'renovating' my 'Open House' level.

I might start a tip of day thread, so people can learn a technique using the editor. It's simple to use but there are a lot of things that aren't documented, so this tip thread miight help.

I really am not educated on the editor. Actually, it's not that, I just don't know how to create custom interiors. All my levels are just parts of other levels.

Spazz,

You need QuArK (editor) to make custom levels. QuArK is a .map editor, but you can set it up to export to MarbleBlast's .dif format for interiors.

A couple post back there's a topic called 'More GG levels? QuArK help!' Alex left some links to get you started. Jayar is proficient with it and Ken had it working on his other computer.

Keep thinking. Better to wait and come up with a brilliant plan then to just pull a crappy idea out of a hat.

MaximumSpazz,

Your levels are awesome! Please make some more! But remember, like you said, quality over quantity.
