Textures..... I find creating textures as valuable as the models themselves.

Personally (as I am no gfx artist) I would not buy a pack without textures, as I cannot use it for a game directly.

The cars look nice, but too similar. The weapons are very nicely done.

Just my 2 cents.

Joel,

Thomas is right. Your models need to be textured, in order to sell better.

If one wants to buy model packs, its probably becuase you are not a gfx artist, and you don't know how to work with max. So, untextured and un-rigged models are worthless to this type of person. Texture them, set them up so they are ready for export, and perhaps even include the dts files in the pack.

Yeah, personaly I feel models are easier to make then the texture. And if someone can make textures usually they can make models.

I noticed that you have skined some in some other images on your site. Are you planning on selling those? and do they have any animations?

Anyway if you don't make textures for the models maybe you could at least make like templates so people can see where the parts go, as I'm sure its easier to texture your own models then someone elses.

Quite nice models, a few shots of the wireframe could be nice. And ploygon counts? Like you have them here but its nice to see it with the model, so you can think about it.

EDIT: errors:
"AK-47 Auto/Semi Auto Machine Gun" I noticed this and thought I would say that this is an Aussult Rifle, NOT a machine-gun. In fact this rifle is a desendt of the first Aussult Rifle ever the MP44(Machine-Pistole 44(it was called a MP still like the MP40, so they could make it look like just a newer version, as Hitler was said to have not aproved of this firearm and to have also given the name "Aussult Rifle" later on when it was gaining impressive results from the front lines.)) Developed by Germany during WWII. Russia copied its design.

Also I noticed a few other errors like this.

Also I wouldn't say that working at 0200hr has its down sides as that makes me think your going to stuff up all the time.

Hi There,

Your models look pretty good. I agree with everyone on the comment about including textures. You should also make sure mounting, muzzle and eject points are defined. Also I would go as far as Ward mentioned and include the exported .dts file. Lastly, you should test all models within the engine to make sure they function properly.

One quick sales tip for you. Sell your stuff on TurboSquid.com, and sell each model individually. I'm currently doing this. I do not make tons of money, but I do make enough to pay my web hosting and cover other expenses.

Best of luck,

Yes thank you for all your comments, since I posted this thread I have skinned 3 more models (the AK, Saiga, and M-9) Currently working on the SOCOM Pistol, and replacing the Mini gun with a weapons called the MXI-8 (skinned) and a FBI Special 2 (skinned) Not sure what the actual name for that is but so far all I can find on it is FBI special 2.
If you would read my web site, I have poly counts on every model in the model pack on the model pack page (which I recently added so you might not have seen it) and texture updates. Also adding to the pack a M-92F Very nice. Will post pictures soon.

EDIT: the M-92F has also been skinned.

I agree with the others. beinga 3d artist myself I coudl create a lot of these in a relatively short time. mapping and textures is half the work, even more without good reference and so I would consider these somewhat overpriced. Particularly if you are considering multiple copies.

the vehicles wouldn't be worth the money unless they were completely different. Would take me about a day at best to model the entire set as it looks like they are all fabricated from the same model. I do like the weapons but thing that you should show wireframes and polycounts to give potential clients a better idea of what they are buying.

The Weapons pack would in my opinion be worth the money if they were mapped and textured, but the vehicle pack would be really hard to sell. Particularly when they have a fairly unique look to them that makes them instantly recogniable. Most people would stay well clear from them as they don't want the exact same models as someone elses games. Something like weapons is cool as they are standard real world weapons, but something like a vehicle is going to stand out like a sore thumb.

Sorry to be negative, but trying to be realistic. I'd finish off those weapons as thats where I think you may actually make the money. Vehicles, I don't really think you will get much mileage out of those.

3 things:
1 I replaced the mini gun and probably going to get rid of the maduce, and replacing them with 3 guns: the FBI Special 2, M-92F, and the XI8, all of which are skinned.
2 In my very first post, I showed you the POLY COUNTS.
3 I since have skinned all models but the SOCOM Pistol and I have
skins for it, just skinning at the moment.

And Lastly and extra thing or two, I will upload some mesh shots soon, (in a new photo page I am making right now).
And I knew the vehicles would not sell well, I was just trying to make some money. Also I am making skins for them, and yes they are all derived from the same basic model, its the MH Series, the same vehicle with different purposes and slightly different looks.
yes the price is probably a bit high I should change that.
