Signing a contract online

Hey everyone,
so if I need to sign a contract with someone from another country, do we have to mail the contracts back and forth or is a scan of a signiture legal?

But that's hardly universal, and still too much of a pain in the butt for most people. The technology is going to have to be made simple before it's adopted.

Many states have passed laws allowing digital signatures to have the same force of law *IF* they are handled properly to establish authenticity. That last part is the problem (I was working with a company ... now gone, alas, that was working on that.)But that's hardly universal, and still too much of a pain in the butt for most people. The technology is going to have to be made simple before it's adopted.

Its much better if he sends you a signed version, you photocopy it then send it back, that way you ahve a copy, and he has the original, thats how a paralegal said i should do it
