Multiple/Team Licensing

by Geoff Weaver · in Torque Game Engine · 08/30/2001 (9:48 am) · 6 replies

I'm looking to purchase 5-6 V12 licenses for my programming team. As far as I can tell, there is no way to do this. Can someone please help me out? I owe it to my programmers to get at least the documentation into their hands. Also, we need to experiment with the modeling plug-in.

Thanks,
~Geoff

That is because you can't. Each person using the source code, i.e. programmers need their own license. This is the way we had to structure the license to get Sierra to do the deal. Everybody that is coding needs to buy their own license, understand, and agree to the license.

There are no corporate licenses.

I can see this as a problem for some people. One possible solution is to reimburse your programmers for the cost of getting the license themselves. Or could you start an account for each and purchase the engine from each account that way?? (Is that possible GG employees?)

Has GG looked into license transfers? Is that possible with the Sierra deal?

what if you have two coders, one "touches" the source code and the other just "scripts", do u need two seperate licenses?

You only need a license if you're touching the source. Anyone can mess with the scripts.

No license transfers.
