Weapon Model Problems

Hey folks... I'm really quite stumped here. I've made a few melee weapon models, but I'm having problems getting them mounted correctly.

I have a sword that mounts fine, but a few others that wont mount right, and I've tried deleting the sword mesh from the max file, replacing it with a VERY similar model (scimitar) and it doesnt work quite right.

Screen shots are at this site, if you could please take the time to look at them and see if you have any ideas...

Please Help

Note: I've tried using the mountpoint dummy, but it seems to be being ignored in every model other than the sword...

More than likely the axis of your mountpoint dummy is misaligned. Select the dummy, vlick on the Hierarchy Tab in the side menu, and choose Affect Pivot Only. You will see your pivot point highlighted with red, green, and blue axis. Align it like the pivot point on your correct weapon is.

I've tried that... I modified it for the sword (it used to point straight out). What's got me stumped is that when I export the sword, all is well. When I delete the sword mesh (from the max file I exported with) and put in any of the others... the mountdummy doesnt take. And it doesnt seem to work from the other models origianl max files either... odd...

Are the mountpoint dummy and the new mesh together in the same spot in the hierarchy (under start)? Also, the Bounds dummy pivot might be affecting it somehow...

If you want to email me a correct shape and one of the ones messing up, I could take a look and see if I can figure it out.
