Dumb Question About Realm Wars

What is the licensing on Realm Wars, is it basically the same as torque, you buy the torque license and you can publish unless your company makes over 500,000$ USD a year? For Instance, what if i used teh Realm Wars source code, and scripting, to make a game, but, have it nothing like realm wars?

Realm Wars is made with the Torque Game Engine, so you'd be buying Torque, not Realm Wars. Realm Wars is a Garage Games community project using the TGE. Hope that helps.

Also is it just me or does the Torque Demo including Realm Wars looks 100 times better then if you download Realm Wars itself. The sky is better the terrain has more detail, what gives with that?
I am currently looking into this, but I don't quite understand how all this works.
THANKS!

So when you buy the torque "engine" you don't get any of the tools, features as seen in Realm Wars? Do you just get an engine that you have to build your own editing tools for? Redo all the work being done on Realm Wars. Also is it just me or does the Torque Demo including Realm Wars looks 100 times better then if you download Realm Wars itself. RealmWars itself has several features that Torque does not. Their use in another project is a bit up in the air. You would need to talk to the current head of the Project: Logan Foster
All of the editing tools, except for the .map editor, come with the Torque SDK. The prefered .map editor: Quark is a seperate, but free, from another site. Do a google search for "Quake Army Knife"

The torque Demo shows off the 1.2 version of Torque. RealmWars itself was forked from Torque around version 1.0 with some features being ported over to RealmWars from 1.1.RealmWars itself has several features that Torque does not. I have, however, been unable to locate a Macintosh version of QuArk. Am I just missing it or does one exist?
Thanks in advance for your help and patience.

Giant and I are working on the same project and both of us are new to Torque. We just recently bought the license for the engine.. He, myself and several others are becoming familiar with the process, the tools and the general scheme of doing things and so far it's very encouraging. From a programming standpoint, I'd like to get some things optomized for Macintosh being that using the FPS demo when you spin your character around there is some pretty serious lag (which I understand is a known issue).I have, however, been unable to locate a Macintosh version of QuArk. Am I just missing it or does one exist?
Thanks in advance for your help and patience.

I am sure there are other conversion projects out there.
Be sure not to confuse the Mac Quark Document Editor with the Quake Army Knife (QuArk).

This is a bit off topic, but as far as I know QuArk was never ported to Mac. A couple of ppl were/are trying to port QuArK to Linux using Kylix, and there is the QuArK++ project to re-implement QuArK in C++ using Crystal Space. I am sure there are other conversion projects out there.

We're a group of programmers and modders from another commercial game looking to work on something that we can produce and call our own.... at least much more so than before. Thanks much for the help.

Heh! I did make that mistake early on but through reading the forums and looking through various links to gather information I figured it out. :)We're a group of programmers and modders from another commercial game looking to work on something that we can produce and call our own.... at least much more so than before. Unfortunately, .map editing tools for linux and Mac are few and far between, and several of the ones that do exist (GTKRadiant
