Hey, did anyone see the article on indie game development in the UK edition of PC Zone ? The article "Going Underground" was a report on IGC 2003 and featured six full pages of report and screenshots! The basic message was that indie development is becoming stronger all the time and that on balance it's a positive thing for the games industry.
Garage Games was featured pretty heavily with screenies of Think Tanks, Orbz, Bridge Builder, Grav Rally, Dark Horizons: Lore. There were also sound bites from a number of the developers behind these titles. Also (!) TT, BCS and Orbz were included on the PCZone DVD cover disk.
Six pages of coverage in a top flight gaming mag is pretty good going - great result for all involved. To put it in perspective the indie games article had the same amount of coverage as the World exlcusive Doom3 catch up. Maybe there'll be a whole new wave of potential UK indies signing up to Torque over the next couple of weeks as a result!
