Yeah, this is a "gimme money" idea. Without verification of site traffic its a waste of time and money.

About a month ago (6 December 2003) someone posted the exact same post (word for word) even down to the e-mail address on another web site. Have you made an progress since then? Is the web site going to be up? Do you have a roll out date set?

its not i have chnaged prices for paid submitting its now $5 every 6 months this would be about half page spread of info while the free would be a quater. You dont get advertising though
the VIP is a option to have the game stored so that poeple can download it from the DgD site
im not sure how long the site will be could be a very loing time

1 - How big is a "quarter" of a web page?
2 - Does that include my 2 screen shots or are they seperate pages.
3 - How big can my screen shots be?
4 - How will the look and feel be to the user.
a - will it have a browse?
b - will it have reviews?
c - will dead links be monitored and removed?
Etc...
All I am sure you have thought about all of this.

I have some more questions, but it sounds like you are still in the "thinking" phase where things are up in the air. After you get your site up and I can see it that will answer questions like:1 - How big is a "quarter" of a web page?
2 - Does that include my 2 screen shots or are they seperate pages.
3 - How big can my screen shots be?
4 - How will the look and feel be to the user.
a - will it have a browse?
b - will it have reviews?
c - will dead links be monitored and removed?
Etc...
All I am sure you have thought about all of this.

1) Why pay you when I can(and already have) pimp my game on free sites?
2) Do you know how much money in bandwidth you'll be spending for hosting game demos for people to download? There's a reason why FilePlanet.com started charging money a while back. It's lot's of $$$$$...
3) Okay, this:
I think what you need to do, while you're still in the "thinking stage" of the project is to sit down and find out what all these game sites offer us developers and gamers, and then find things to do that would top it to the point where we'd want to give you our money to get on your site. Right now, I can email Adrenaline Vault or IGN about my game and get 100x the press you'll give me, what I want to know is, what are you giving me that:
1) Is different/better than sites like that, and/or,
2) would make me want to fork over cash?
Those are the questions you need to answer. Honestly, it doesn't matter how long a website is going to be around or how many lines of text I can get(seriously, I can get a 5-page preview on the same sites previewing World of Warcraft). I don't care if the website looks "pro" with "mainly tables". I want something that says "Look, give me some money, and my site will see to it than you make it back with an additional decimal place or two behind it". If you can't do that, then don't ask for money.
On the other hand, you can run a game site with the ads like GG has at the top here, plus some of your own advertising, and link exchanges. To get yourself noticed before you put a system in place that requires money from people.

Well, I have no doubt that you can get the website up, but there's several problems with this kind of thing:1) Why pay you when I can(and already have) pimp my game on free sites?
2) Do you know how much money in bandwidth you'll be spending for hosting game demos for people to download? There's a reason why FilePlanet.com started charging money a while back. It's lot's of $$$$$...

1) How big is a "short" description versus a "bigger" one?
2) Why pay for just adding a few more words?
3) Okay, so if I pay the $5/forever plan for VIP(very important program? hehe), what happens to the game when it's uploaded? Does it just sit there fat and happy? Is it sold? Is there security for it? Is it advertised?
4) If you don't even have the website ready yet, and have no traffic to it yet, why wouldn't it be a better idea to use a link exchange system to get traffic to your site?
It's not a half bad idea to make a directory of indie games that are in development, but this idea is also a thinly-veiled "gimme money" idea as well. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but if you're getting my money I'm getting my money's worth back, and paying for having a few more words on your website don't cut it...
