Just a question, for Torque Master Server/Web Site/Pop3/php/mysql/ftp/asp/100 megs space, how much would you be willing to pay for all that?

Master server hosting is provided free by GG (ie, they run a master server anyone can use).

As far as the other features, I'd want to pay rates competitive with the web serving market. Anywhere from $10-$40 a month could be reasonable depending on the exact feature set.

I mean for people who want a private master server

It's such a minor space I couldn't justify spending more than a buck or two a month extra for it. It's entirely possible to set up one's own on almost any net connection and get the same results.

Say you wanted to host your own master for your Torque game. What software is needed for it?

There are a few master server implementations available. One is available at www.pblabs.com/projects.html. There are others. They are for the most part entirely stand-alone.

Check the resources and forums for master server - there's some code running around here for it.

Also, for developers looking for a good deal on web hosting, go here .

First three years are FREE - and it's legit. I'm currently using them as my host. =)
