TortoiseCVS

Hi there.

I have checked out the source with WinCVS without any problems, but I actually prefer to use TortoiseCVS for my day to day work, but I have a bit of a problem.

How the h*** do I send the password when connecting in TortoseCVS?!? :)

I have used an hour+ now, and are getting to the point where I start feeling REALLY stupid - I have found no mentioning of it anywhere! :)

So - if any of you had the same setup, please help - If not I'll just go and bug the TortoiseCVS lists a bit... :)

I also use TortoiseCVS for everything but GG - simply cant make it work. No clue why - I've installed WinCVS for GG stuff.

I have TortoiseCVS working for GG stuff. As I recall, I typically need to "bootstrap" my checkouts using command line or WinCVS. Once the checkout is done, though, any CVS client can work with it, and I prefer to use Tortoise.

I think it's a flaw with the way they do their implementation with cvs login. It ought to ask, but somehow it never quite seems to work out. Pester them till they fix it. ;)

On a related note... TortoiseSVN .21 has been very stable for me(previous versions crashed explorer)... I keep Torque in the vendors area of my SVN repository.. it's slick.

I'll chime in here... I've had problems with TortoiseCVS in the past where it would work logging in to the GG CVS and then it just forgot the password and wouldn't work again from that point on.

It's a nice convieniance to have the CVS integrated into the filemanager... but it seems to need more work.

I've never had problems using TortoiseCVS with GarageGames' or anyone else's CVS server. It pops up a dialog prompting me for a password, and saves it in my home directory.
