Collision inoperative

I have read through the documentation (even printing it out so it would be handy).. searched through the forums including forums on other sites, and I still run across the same problem:
I create a simple model in 3dsmax 4...
I do all the documentation tells me to do (as far as I can tell)..
I have the collision box (simple box) set up (again, following the documentation as closely as possible)...
I load it into Torque and I get the object looking fine.. but I can pass right through it.
I've tried changing things... modifying the way they are linked... swapping the names of the collision mesh and marker... nothing works.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong... I've tried reseting and doing the whole thing over from scratch, double checking (and triple checking) each step... still no luck.
Any clues anyone?

In game.

(I'm not an artist... if any of you artist types feel like chiming, that would be cool ;)
You also might try getting on the IRC channel and waiting for an artist type to show up, then asking them nicely for help... :)

Are you sure you're making a collision mesh and not a bounding box?(I'm not an artist... if any of you artist types feel like chiming, that would be cool ;)

Try to follow this - it works 100% and is very simple to follow.

What type of object is it in-game? If it's an itemObject, then you would tend to pass through it unless you have scripted item collisions to behave differently.

I tested the DTS model and I know it works on a clean head. You can test your setup as well. You'll have to scale down the block to about 1/10 the size.
Hope it helps

HERE is an example of a real easy collision. I included a screen of the Heirarchy. Most likely its a linking problem or bad namimg. I have done both so your not alone.I tested the DTS model and I know it works on a clean head. You can test your setup as well. You'll have to scale down the block to about 1/10 the size.

I'm about a hair away from just saying 'to hell with it' and going the milkshape route. :/
I appreciate all the help you guys have tried to give me... obviously there is something about collision boxes that I have a mind block to... dunno what it could be... but that's what you get being an artist and trying to meddle in things better left to the pros :)

I tried loading your example, but I don't have viewpowermanager.dll heh... sigh... I do have a way of making a working collision box... it involves using milkshape (works every time)... I just don't like milkshape cause it doesn't like multi-sub object textures... so trees wind up being two seperate files... the trunk (for the collision box) and the foliage...I'm about a hair away from just saying 'to hell with it' and going the milkshape route. :/

What version of Max are you running? I made the example in max 5. I can put it together in any version just let me know. MAtt
