Cripes. It seems that I keep seeing more and more blatant misspellings and usage errors (it's a MOOT point, not MUTE). I can understand this from non-native English speakers, but I have less tolerance for those in English speaking countries.
I realize no one is perfect. I even initially misspelled 'blatant'. But there are some tools out there to help. One is www.iespell.com, though that doesn't work in Firebird (which I am using at the moment). Another is www.dictionary.com.
At least look like you tried. :-)

You work with me, and have managed not to explode at my spelling? Impressive! :-)

I realise not everyone spells some words the same, too. ;-)
Or maybe everyone here is just really '1337'. lol
Davis: :-P Count your blessings.
edit: Added cool hyperdictionary.com defs, and changed l33t to the more current 1337, w/daffynition. :-P
Note: I'm not raving mad on this. Just a suggestion. On everything else, however, I am a raving lunatic.

"Realize" is American English. :-PI realise not everyone spells some words the same, too. ;-)

Eric, no wonder you never call anymore... :)

Omg... Davis, from now on you're in charge of proofreading my emails. I wouldn't want to make Eric snap. Come to think of it... I wonder how bad some of my past emails were.Eric, no wonder you never call anymore... :)

Jesus Eric - look what you did! :-) You went and got me worked up over people too 'leet to type, or too lazy to type ;-)

I have less problems with poor spelling and broken English (American or Brittish either one ;-) as I do with people too damned lazy to type out a full sentence. Using the number '2' instead of the word to is like the fastest way to garantee undesireable responses from me. And what REALLLLLLY ticks me off is anyplace I see "How do I use my mouse? (NT)". If there's no text, then there's no reason for me to reply, now is there.Jesus Eric - look what you did! :-) You went and got me worked up over people too 'leet to type, or too lazy to type ;-)

John: The ONLY time I proofread anything is when I send it to press or am handling business. Otherwise I type exactly like I think - clutter, jumbled, and sometimes just bloody wrong! ;-) So you should NOT have me read your emails - your errors would be completely transparent to me, I'm used to reading my own writing! :o)

I don't call anymore because you stopped sending me roses. :-P

LOL. I'm not THAT tough, guys. The occasional error is more than forgivable, but cheese-n-rice -- have you seen some of these posts?
Oh. I forgot one more source: A DICTIONARY. ;-) LOL

I mean, no one is going to be 100% correct all the time. Even if you proof, you're likely to have an error or two slip in (which is why, for important documents and such, you should always have a second trusted set of eyes proof as well). I have a mental block agains the word necce...necess...um, that word that means "must be done". ;)
It's true that no one's going to post perfectly, but trying would be nice. If nothing else, remember that people are going to judge you as they read your writing. And they will judge your maturity, education, and intelligence in large part on your perceived literacy. Is it always or even often accurate? Not really. Does nearly everyone do it anyway? Yes.

Ah, i'd play the irony card. But you wouldn't understand that either :)
Just joking... iespell is a good tool. There's actually a tool that lets you load MS Word into a text box in IE. That way you get all the grammer and spell checking in a interactive format.
Honestly Eric, if you let such things bother you you'll have less hair than me in no time :)
