Mind Control and User Control

This is something I've been following for a little while. They basically push electrosensitive rods into the brain and it eventually learns how to use the arm. Unbelievable. I know that a study has been done with paralyzed people who learned how to drive a wheelchair. This is an unbelievable development in neural science, and could impact our society, and videogames, in ways that only science fictionlists have been able to concieve....thought it'd be interesting to share.

When I was in college, I worked with non-intrusive brain analysing stuff... Basically, we would put some sensors (sometimes up to 50) on a person's head (usually one the guys at the lab that was bald) and then we would pump the signal with 50000 euro signal amplifiers... then, we would use that data to train a neural network to "understand" the brain patterns and after that, the user could do some simple tasks, like controlling a RC car (or a wheelchair... I think they did that after I left the lab)...
We were studying the possibility of analysing the users emotional response to stimuli with the same hardware when I left... interesting stuff... But I think that we are very far from usable technology, since the signal processors/boosters are VERY expensive and delicate... of course, intrusive measures can be the answer to these problems... the skin is very well isolated... :)
