Animated Platform with a User Controlled Spawn Sphere?

I read a lot of forum threads on doors and platforms?

Could a animated DTS object with a spawn sphere attached to simulate a moving platform that vehicals can spawn on top of.

The type of effect Iam trying to achieve is a a underground silo
like the game I dug up for my Amiga 500 (Still works heh) Armourgeddon.

When you launched a vehical it would rise up from the underground silo to the surface sitting on this platform.

From the tower camera you can see this platform sink back in the ground and a few seconds later it comes back up with a vehical on it. Also when your Vehical is damage you roll it on the platform and its sinks back into the ground to be repaired.

Could some good David CopperFieldish Torque techniques be applied?

I thinks so :))

I created a simple box interior with a platform that animates moving up and down. I can sink this baby under the terrain with just the boxtop part on the surface and pretty much script the rest. I been looking at the Tuts for the Flag DTS and Tiggers.

Well something goofy came out of my experimentations heh.

I make a Bot Door. Its alive and all but he just swings back and forth, blocking stuff. Probably would be a pain placing them all over the place. His death animation is falling off his hinges when you kill him.

I figured instead of thinking the norm I would think off the wall a bit. since the info for AI players existed. It doesnt have to be a person heh.

Still have to make it as though your making a person, but iam going to make one to make a elevator. its uh he is shape like a box but Iam using the AIplayer stuff for his collisons and movement. heh

Ok found a better one. I switched gears messing with the player stuff and look at the buggy stuff.

I made the elevator into a vehical heh. the orc just mounts inside of the elevator and you can travel up and down. Just Dismount when you reach you floor.

I want to restrict the movement of the Vehical-vator tho.

After all elevators do move people so I can make my platforms and stuff vehicals.

Lol... That's an awesome door!

It sounds like you're doing some really creative, cool stuff... I look forward to hearing more. :)

UPDATE:

My Franken-torque creations are currently in suspended animation.

But with all the improvements coming out. I will revisit these at some later date.

Lol, ought to make the elevator eat you ... pretty off the wall fun stuff, I like that a lot better than most of the 'normal' ideas though, would be awesome to see some pics
