BattleTech & AeroTech 2 & MechWarrior RPG

I read at www.solaris7.com some are trying to use the V12 to make for themselves their own version of the BattleTech Boardgame mixed with AeroTech 2 boardgame and MechWarrior RPG game book. Due to the fact that they can be sued for copyright infringement if they distribute their copies publicly (i.e., on internet for download, in stores, through mail, etc.), their exclusively making their own versions. The BattleTech game system is now owned by other people called "Wizkids" founded by I think Jordan Weisman. I was wondering if anyone else has thought about using the V12 to create a BattleTech like game system.

The thought crossed my mind when someone was talking about Wing Commander. Aerotech has never been explored as a video game.

A couple of folks are working on Mecha related projects. I think doing something like Shogo: MAD and mixing it with v12 (maybe treating the mecha as vehicles, so you can actually eject and do something ;)). I did hear-tell of someone planning a T2 mod with mechs, so, who knows.

Getting rights to a Battletech game is gonna be hard. MS owns that contract for now, and the MW/MC games have been well recieved. Executing contracts as a developer for MS is hard too :) Unless they;ve changed in the last 3 years :)
