Saving Missions in V12test

I've used the Mission Editor in V12test to view shapes I've created in Worldcraft, but I don't understand what happens when I try to save my changes. The file generated has a random string appended to the original filename, and it ends in a different extension (.ml and not .mis). Is there another step needed to convert the .ml to .mis?

.ml is a mission lighting file
.mis is a mission script file

When you are in the mission editor and press save it displays the directory where the .mis will be saved.

I started this thread BEFORE I read a previous thread "Map Editor". I needed to change the read-only status of the .mis files. Sorry for the redundant question.

Acutally glad you started this thread, I missed the other one also, and was having the same problem.
