Unhandled exception problem

Hey guys,
Don't know if this is a bug or not, but I figured if nothing else, maybe someone could point me in the right direction. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the Torque, and I thought I'd try to compile the head. When I do, I get an error "Unhandled exception in torqueDemo_DEBUG.exe (PMX20GL.DLL): 0xc00000 ID: Illegal Instruction" Has anyone run into this, or know what might be causing it? Any help would be appreciated!
thanks, j037

It looks like you're getting the error from your graphics driver; are you running the latest versions of your drivers?

Yes, I am running the latest version of all my drivers. I downloaded them again after receiving this error, just in case. I have a P3 500 meg, 128 meg ram,and the Hercules 3d Prophet 4500. And I'm using VC6 to compile. Thanks again for your help.

Okay, I still haven't figured out this one, but it still builds the engine, so I can get by - although I'm having a problem with the graphics settings - coincidence? See my other post.thanks for the help,

I would suggest upgrading your graphics card. The name "Hercules" sends shivers down my spine.

That's definately a driver problem. Reinstall your drivers, upgrade your card, or you're out of luck :\

Ben, A Prophet 4500 is really a Kyro II. Nothing wrong with that chip - did pretty well for the dreamcast, anyway!

I'm not saying my opinion is anything more than a vague premonition of doom, probably a holdover from the early 90's. In any case, the Kyro II is a bit dated and probably could use an upgrade - I got a Radeon 7000 dual head online for $25, including shipping and handling, for instance.

Yeah, but look how the DC ended ;)I'm not saying my opinion is anything more than a vague premonition of doom, probably a holdover from the early 90's. Thanks guys, guess its time to bite the bullet and do some shopping around. I tried reinstalling the drivers (for the nth time) and it still won't work, so I'll have to upgrade my card. Its probably about time I dragged myself into the 21st century anyway, albeit kicking and screaming...j037

Has anyone else had this problem? Maybe with more machine specs we can figure out what configurations have this problem?
update Oct 7th 2003
The latest HEAD seems to have fixed this issue... it also comes with an awesome example demo. :)

I tried to run my game on a friend's machine (late model AMD chip - not sure which one, W2K, DX9.0, latest detonator drivers for his Ti4200) and got this exact same error; I don't think it's necessarily related to the hercules chipset. This is with 1.1.2 - I was going to try again with HEAD, but now that's not looking so promising.Has anyone else had this problem? Maybe with more machine specs we can figure out what configurations have this problem?
