To anyone who has never used Torsion...

by Dan Keller · in Torque 3D Professional · 08/20/2011 (10:13 am) · 9 replies

The past few months of game development for me were done without Torsion. I thought "I don't need to spend more money" or "I can figure stuff out without it."

This morning, on a whim, I downloaded the demo. The first thing I did with it was solve a problem that I had expected to (and I'm sure would have) taken about 3 hours. In 15 minutes.

So to anyone who thought the way I did, it's 20 bucks which could easily cut down your bug fixing time by half or more.

And no, they didn't pay me to write this, I'm just very impressed. (And a little wired from drinking very strong tea.)

Same situation with me. Torsion is a lifesaver, I highly recommend it.

Dude - seriously - it's the only way to fly and WELL worth the price of admission.

Oh I couldn't code without it but wish it was did a couple of lil things better i.e. comment/uncomment hotkeyed or on a toolbar rather than hidden in the menu.

Couldn't live without it though

What problem did it solve?

The player was running into a trigger before the thing the trigger was supposed to do was set up. I didn't realize that was happening in the wrong order until I set breakpoints at each function.

I used it for a hour. In that hour it defiantly paid for itself.
