by Jester Carvalho · in Jobs · 03/14/2011 (2:50 pm) · 22 replies

We are in need of a programmer to help finalize our current project. Have just a few remaining issues to work out before we can put on Xbox live indie games. Willing to pay or share percentage of total sales which ever would be best. Please contact as soon as possible. We are currently working in Torque X 2d CEV4.0 and vs2010.

Have you tried looking for programmers in various outsourcing sites? It can be a great alternative to forums of this kind. Here are the outsourcing sites you could try:
1. oDesk
2. Freelancer
3. Elance
4. Scriptlance
5. Guru
6. vWorker

These sites are legitimate but you still have to take precautions. It's always better to ask for portfolios or maybe check their profile and see how jobs have they completed, if they have good ratings and feedback. This will help you see if that provider is good enough and can be trusted to do the job.

You can also post your job/project and wait for programmers to bid for it. Just make sure to include all the details and instructions so they will know and understand the job.

For more information please visit this link and read about the different outsourcing site reviews as well as guidelines when hiring people offshore: www.timedoctor.com/blog/2011/02/22/the-top-6-outsourcing-sites-and-how-to-use-th...

Has the CEV4 been warez'ed ?

LOL know what you are talking about before you go and flood a forum post saying warez user. The product I am using is not under this acct name but under my partners name. If you are so concerned with finding a warez user make sure you know all the facts. My game is fully licensed and if duncan wants to check the cev/svn site for my partners name then he is more then welcome to. Pino would not accept a warez user with out a licence to access the svn site. Thank You for trying to pass me off as a warez user but not this time. maybe you can check all of the other million posts maybe you might just find 1 that won't call you out.

Verifying licence rights for contract work is common practice.

Professionalism in such situations is admirable. This job offer was posted from an account that contains no credentials, ergo the ambiguity of exhibited causality.

"We teach people everyday how to treat us; we do this with our words, our actions and even our silence." Considerings from Buddha.

I interpret that as Buddha being rather judgemental ;)

There have been a lot of pirates posting here in the past, so we're naturally a little touchy. It's always best to post from a license-holding account because of that :)

If you all think slander is admirable then you all are sadly mistaken. It is also illegal in business practice. Maybe you should all take this into account before you make posts like this. Next time a simple "do you have a license?" would be a better way to find out who has a license and who does not. If you think this is the end of this post you are sadly mistaken. I will look into garage games' policy on slander and trying to tarnish a members name. Also programmers as well as a game managers do not have to have a license to post or work on a licensed game, as long as the owner has the license. If you all think that this is a good practice then good luck on your own projects. Maybe you should try posting on something that you know for a fact or try helping someone with code issues rather then trying to attack someone. You all should be ashamed not proud of community posts such as the 1 from scratch.

um, really?
from www.garagegames.com/FAQ
Quote:Q: Can I share source code and/or Torque script with other people?

A: Yes, subject to the conditions in the EULA. For example, if you want to share Torque script, the recipient of the script must at least own a binary version of the same engine. If you want to share anything else, the recipient must own a Pro version of the same engine.

Quote:The Individual license grants rights in the source, binary and Torque Script version of our development product. Source code is included and no one except the licensor may use the product. Currently, all engines sold on the web-site other than TorqueX are individual licenses. All developers on your project need a license. Provided your modding tools are compliant with our EULA, modders do not need a license to our prouduct.

Quote: The Studio license grants rights in the source, binary and Torque Script version of our development product. Source code is included. You may designate people other than yourself who can use the product so long as they have an account with us and agree to our EULA. You can only re-designate the seats a certain number of times and you may only re-designate a seats once per 30 days. Currently, TorqueX is the only engine sold on the web-site as a studio license. All developers on your project need a license. Provided your modding tools are compliant with our EULA, modders do not need a license to our prouduct.

so in all your infinite wisdom show me where it allows programmers and others "working" on the game/project to not have a license. please enlighten us all.

Your professionalism is truly illuminating.

I adhere to the cautions policy of withholding assumptions until evidence dictates logic, ergo the well comprehended linguistic difference between passive assumptions and logical observations.

Fact, there is absolutely no slander stated anyplace in this thread. If you actually truly knew what slander is, you would have used the word libel, because slander and libel are both different types of "Defamation".

It is plausible, the posting from unlicensed forum account, but it is truly not logical to persist in irrational emotionally motivated retaliation if indeed the original plausibility is the real truth as stated.

@Greg - Studio license allows for a licensed owner to temporarily assign his or her license to another individual for development purposes.

Designers do not need a license if they are not working inside of the product.

@Chris - that is correct.
If he was assigned a seat as part of a studio liscense it would show in his profile.

I also understand that not everyone on a team needs the license. Although all who work with the product do. In what I quoted from him, he said that programmers did not as long as the owner has the license and that is just not so.

I am not saying he warez'ed the software but was attempting to clarify some mis-statements about the license from his post. He may not need a license, he never stated his position on the project.

Honestly at this point this has completely derailed his thread so I will leave it alone.

EDITED for clarity, not sure it is any better though.

Regardless, I believe the community (Deepscratch :P) was a bit harsh with Jester.

@Jester - Good luck finding a suitable candidate for your project. :) I would apply but I am not very familiar with Torque X (though I'm sure it is very similar to the other torque products).

I would recommend any candidate to verify your license as well as for you to verify THERE license. But I'm sure you already planned on doing so.

Just so you know he is my project manager not a programmer. I relay any build problems and he tracks them. I own the license and have every right to have someone work with me. They do not have the source code and work with only cs files and trial version. If you continue to give us problems about his and keep calling us name to bring down our reputation i will get you for slander. Honestly i have not read this whole post and have no desire to. The one spamming warez user can either shut your mouth or face the alternative. I alone hold the source code and have not given it out in anyway shape or form.

Other then that if i wanted to give it away i would due to the fact that i bought 2 product from this company and neither will ever be completed so there for i feel as tho i am the one who has a right to complain about this not a company that has no desire to make it right with their clients. Garage Games will never get another cent from me and as far as I am concerned they are the crooks not the Warez users anyway.

Please check this account to see what licences i hold then talk smack about Warez.

To all those trying to help ty very much, this post was not directed to you but to the ignorant people who jump to conclusions.

@Doni - Thank you for the clarification. Also, T3D is actively being developed by Garage Games and they probably do not appreciate what you are saying about them in your post.

You may have a distaste for their company but I believe they are doing there best to turn it around and truly satisfy their customer base.

(Isn't it somewhat hypocritical considering what was said in regards to your own company?)

"If you continue to give us problems about his and keep calling us name to bring down our reputation i will get you for slander."

"...this post was not directed to you but to the ignorant people who jump to conclusions."

In no situation whatsoever is it excusable to treat any other human as a disregardable object, every comment made by 'community' members in this thread are clearly attempts to be cautiously helpful, not the actions of the ignorant people who jump to conclusions. The choice of reaction to what is clearly NOT slanderous personal attacks is a perfect definition to your conceptual understanding of what "ignorant" truly is.

Correcting misunderstandings of intended communication is something civilized society accepts openly and willingly. This repetition of irrational behavior is a much better example of "Defamation" then anything anyone have said in this forum thread, the tragedy of most irrational logic...

"Regardless, I believe the community (Deepscratch :P) was a bit harsh with Jester."
Deepscratch, in this situation may be perceived as "a bit harsh", but clearly justification in this regard is perfectly substantiated by the reaction; providence by proxy of causality.

I ABSOLUTELY agree with Duncan. I realize this isn't the place to post it (Sorry Jester) but it's really annoying. You don't have to use big words to make intelligent posts.

@Duncan - I'm glad you said it first. :)

@Caylo - I appreciate active community members. keep up the responses man!
