Just curious as to the pricing of torque 3d, torque 2d and i versions after limited time (for $99) is up?

I hope i'm right on this, but I doubt you'll see that high of a price tag again, or atleast for a long while.

Nah, that was an Instant Action thing. As you know they're under new ownership, and that owner actually understands the meaning of and spirit of an indie development. It may never go up, or it perhaps may follow suit of the old GG pricing schemes. However, we won't know until we know, or until the dust settles and they have a better idea of what they need to do.I hope i'm right on this, but I doubt you'll see that high of a price tag again, or atleast for a long while.

Once T3D is stable I think it might increase a little, but the price will probably still be very pleasant. T2D might not even get an increase, and certainly not as much as T3D if it does.

They also said that if/when it increases it won't be back up to the prices it was before.

They said in IRC that it's an experiment right now to see if 99$ is sustainable, the more people buy at 99 the more likely it is to stay at that price. They also said that if/when it increases it won't be back up to the prices it was before.

Unfortunately the first steps are just upgrading the forums and everything else that are way out of date, we'll get there though.

We took a little time out from ZDay as I got really busy along with a couple of the other guys that between us we delivered most stuff. We're now just starting up development again from a few weeks back and porting things to Torque 3D.Unfortunately the first steps are just upgrading the forums and everything else that are way out of date, we'll get there though.

Even if the price does change it'd probably be going to the neighborhood of C4's price range -- that is to say, not $1200. XD I'd still pay $350 for T3D, it has the best graphical and script support I've seen of any engine, even beating out UDK because of zero royalties.

Quote:Sorry for rant, it's just getting a bit ridiculous in my view....With all due respect, what I see as "ridiculous" is ranting about one's own unfounded speculations about possible future actions... Shouldn't we wait until after the new owners have done someone outrageous, before being outraged about it? :-)

For the sake of those who may come across this thread later and become misinformed as a result. There have never been any paid updates for T3D, T2D or iT2D to date.

Forget it, it's pointless. I am going to blank out what I said except this final thing "once torque has been updated sufficiently has it not been renamed and a larger price tag been placed on it?", (tge->tse->tgea->t3d+portability options). Being called a liar changes things. I don't need to lie to see what's going on....

Torque has been redone, a couple of times. No one called you a liar.

Are sequels to games not the same game with minor upgrades? should they also be free?Torque has been redone, a couple of times. No one called you a liar.

I never said anything about games or them being free and no not the same thing.
Yes they did.

1. The last we heard from the owners is that the lowered prices are a return to our roots. Great game engines at a low cost.
2. The offer is for a limited time
3. The expiration date of the offer is not currently known, but when we determine the end date we will give everyone AMPLE time to pull together the funds before they miss the deal
4. Erik claimed that while the $99 is for a limited time, they should NOT return to anything close to the $1K price point.
5. More details will be released as we make final decisions.
There, that should help everyone. I humbly ask that those who have gotten their answers move on and do not derail the thread. Question asked, question answered.

Right then. I think the original question has been answered, but for the sake of clarity:1. The last we heard from the owners is that the lowered prices are a return to our roots. Great game engines at a low cost.
