Ok, a quick update. I've gotten some good replies, but none related to what we are looking for. Thankfully, Zynga has recently expanded their available positions. We are now (in addition to the positions listed above) also looking for data analysts, data engineers, community managers, and artists (yes, artists!). We are even looking for students for our University program, so if you are still in college, you can come work a paid summer internship with our company. A note for artists: Artists with very strong 2D portfolios only. By strong I mean good enough to get you attention from a traditional game company. 3D artists are welcome also, but pure 3D artists will probably not get much consideration. Just a bit of honesty.

Hey Vince. We spoke earlier through email regarding Zynga.

I'm guessing you've decided you are not excepting any remote contractors?

Hi Chris, sorry for the late reply. I spoke with HR and they are looking for on-site work only at the moment. Are you sure you're not interested in relocating to one of our studio locations?

Right: I also have Logo & Website experience if that is being looked for. I'm generally well-rounded when it comes to graphic design: But my real Passion is Game Design & Creation. This includes the entire documentation process as well, since that's the part that makes it all come together.

Hi Vince,
My name is German Roverso, currently a student at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, set to graduate in 2 months with a BFA in Illustration. I've been researching social gaming and its artists for quite some time now; artists such as yourself, Helen Zhang, and Andrej Bevec and tons of others. It looks like we went to the same school!

In any event, my goal when I graduate in 2 months is to land a job/internship at Zynga as a 2-D artist. I actually work across the street from Zynga at Sega as a QA Tester. I am proficient in Photoshop, Painter, and Illustrator. I also have an intermediate knowledge of Flash. I have some Vector samples in my portfolio but but I plan to have a strong full fledged Vector section before I graduate. Currently I'm working on learning Sketch-up to assist me in my illustrations as well as enhancing my concept art portfolio. I'm very dedicated to my craft, I'm hungry, and I want to be a part of the social gaming movement.

Thanks a lot for looking at what I have to offer, if I'm not what you are looking for, any criticism on how I can improve my portfolio to better appeal to Zynga would be greatly appreciated. Below is a link to my temporary portfolio site, my actual site is currently under construction. Thanks again Vince, I look forward to hearing from you, and keep up the amazing artwork.

Great stuff so far! Keep it coming! In addition to dominating the social gaming sector, Zynga is also making a huge push into mobile gaming. For those of you who are interested, this is your chance to jump to the front of the line for your respective positions. Zynga has a long line of applicants for all positions, so I can't emphasize enough how much of an advantage that is. Nothing is guaranteed, but it definitely helps.
