I may have posting privileges blocked for writing this.
..but I am ok with that as this post is well worth it.
Dear Brett,
The doors are basically closing on Torque today but hopefully the TorquePowered site will remain online long enough for you to see this post.
I am writing to you publicly today to inform you of my disappointment in your credibility. I am sure many others feel the same way. You see, in this day and age, the one thing a man has is his word..and you failed us well short of your word.
What do I mean?;
- You overly & dramatically stated that T3D would be different than TGEA in that it would be completed as described and NOTHING would stop that. You overstepped normal communication boundaries to relay that to potential buyers.
If I remember correctly, you bet your life on it being completed properly with all features noted.
...but somehow T3D still lacks plenty of the features you noted, still lacks the hyped features that you rained onto us, it's still not stable for commercial use without loads of work, and well..it's currently a failure from most viewpoints. Also to mention; 1.1 final would equate to a proper 0.98 beta(IMO).
Moving beyond the above;
Well, I am not so upset that T3D never reached your "hype level"..I am upset that you never gave an apology to all of us for the entire situation(noted above).
- A simple "I am sorry but X Y Z happened" would have sufficed.
..but you kinda ran away and left us in the cold while you quickly grabbed a new job for yourself.
- The job that came to your doorstep based off of the revenue figures generated by your Mal-Marketing hypes and lies! Does Unity know about how you played us ?
Please defend yourself..it would be nice to hear an apology or any reason for why we got screwed but you got promoted.
Regards,
Swindled Person
//Edit: I don't mind this thread being locked. The point of it remains & I never really expected an answer..I simply hope that he reads it someday.

He crossed lines to convince people to purchase..and then failed to deliver on his word. I am looking for reasons to that, specifically.

Thanks Ivan, but I am not satisfied with that article's content. It's a simple "kiss butt & goodbye with a business suit on".He crossed lines to convince people to purchase..and then failed to deliver on his word. I am looking for reasons to that, specifically.

Everyone has an opinion and though this one *could be* construed as being little short of an opening salvo in a flame war I don't see why you would think your posting privileges would be pulled just for sharing your thoughts and views -- despite the sometimes overzealous moderation that goes on around here.

I am not revoking your posting privileges, but I will lock this topic. We do not need "calling out" topics, especially when the employees are no longer with us or likely to answer such a gauntlet-toss.
