Voodoo3?

by Cary Tetrick · in Hardware Issues · 08/19/2003 (2:05 pm) · 4 replies

We have a guy who's going to be helping us with a little project using Torque.
He's got a voodoo3 on his machine. From what I can tell, the engine supports that card, (as did T2).
Does the V12 engine still correctly support this card?
He's been unable to run the engine or the T2 demo without crashing.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Cary

Depends on what version of Torque you are using, the newere resource additions put much heavier loads on the graphics system that Tribes 2 did, I would say get a newer card, there are more modern cards for <$50 US available ( even PCI ) that will be 10 - 100 times faster and more compatible. try Price Watch

Even a TNT2 Ultra card would be better than that 3Dfx antique ;) And you could probably get someone to give you one of those for free!

It has been a long while (2 years) since I have been able to get TGE to run on a Voodoo3. Torque is actually my first test tool for trying out new Voodoo3 drivers but I haven't found a compatible driver in a long while.

Thinktanks Ran ok on my Voodoo Banshee in an Athlon 850. All you have to do is install and setup WickedGL.
