@Randel I just want to thank you for bring the page back up. I myself have plans to work with the kit on a project at this time.

i mean, everyone getting all upset over a vapourware product thats designed to bolt onto a product that hasnt been commercially available for what? over a year now?
what annoys me if anything is that the guys at mydream got screwed over because somebody at GG was sleeping with somebody at PG and their version of the torque mmo kit became the only acceptable one.
I wonder if the new owners of torque will persue PG with the same level of agression that PG are persuing others? I'm pretty sure theres already been some fuss about what you can and cannot do with and for torque3d, and probably a t3d port of the MMO kit violates the t3d licence unless its hosted on this site as a resource.

I still really don't understand what happened with the MyDream kit. Unless there has been a radical change on how Torque license works since TGE you can share Torque source code with other torque license owners? Was it a binary shipping issue or something different? I don't recall of hearing of any other "kit or resource" being rejected like that since then as I am sure anything that leads to a GG sale is good for them. Anyway, don't want to dig up something long since settled years ago, but it was before I got involved and was always a bit hazy on that one.

Be civil. That was a bit out of line.

but unless you have a better explanaition why GG decided to ruin an entire community and an established product in favour of an 'unfinished' product.
anyway, my main point still stands, there was much fuss made over the fact that one of the dozens of different t3d licences restricted the use of t3d and levyed charges for any product that wasnt an actual game, in fact shipping any form of t3d out to anybody with any kind of editor as far as i know is still something that will get jumped on.
and its only out of line if you can prove its false :p

'be civil' any idea how many truths remain hiden in the modern world because many truths are considered to be uncivilised :pbut unless you have a better explanaition why GG decided to ruin an entire community and an established product in favour of an 'unfinished' product.

1. I don't have to provide an explanation to ask you politely to not use such derogatory statements as to how business dealings occurred. There are many ways you could have expressed a concern over favoritism, claiming that someone slept with someone else (even in jest) is insulting.
2. I had barely just come on board when the situation you are referring to occurred. I do have insight as to what happened, but I was not involved and will not speak for others.

Bloodknight, vent your frustration on the MMOWorkshop forums, this is not the right place, nor the right way to put your concerns.

As far as I'm concerned, I think this thread has already run its course. It was already suggested to take the rest of the discussion to e-mail or another site...which I'm encouraging. I'm leaving this unlocked in case an important question is posed.

i dont use either kit, in fact i'm part of a minority of the world that actually understands that you can make an RPG that *isnt* and MMO, i'm more interested in games than money, MMOs are money making machines where gameplay and consumers come a poor 2nd place to income.
the intent of my post was simply to point out that if anybody was breaking laws regarding EULA violations then prarie games was the more likely candidate than anybody who 'owns' a copy of the free BSD licenced copy of the MMOworkshop torque addon, in fact if anything the original post itself is agressive and accusational, i'm not sure about the US but certainly the UK and parts of the EU making an accusation a'la the OP could itself be considered grounds for legal action for defamation of character.
but i'm done with this thread now, i feel somewhat violated and victimised for somthing wholly unintentional on my part

i wasnt actually venting at all, i just made a comments that was wildly misinterpreted, which i explained in the post that the moderator removed. (which btw makes me look worse, so actually the moderators not helping, perhaps if youd snip Mr Perrys over reaction and other associated posts toom hell remove my original post too if you must but removing my *semi-apology* is poor form at best)i dont use either kit, in fact i'm part of a minority of the world that actually understands that you can make an RPG that *isnt* and MMO, i'm more interested in games than money, MMOs are money making machines where gameplay and consumers come a poor 2nd place to income.

Torque 3D Owner David Stocker
@Michael- is the Torque side code a resource? What would be TP’s stance on it? Prairie Games had a license that allowed them to distribute (in binary form only? As a resource to torque licencees?) and that c++ code was used as the starting point for the T3D port. This all makes my head hurt.
In any case, I don't need the licensing issues and certainly don't need the uncertainty that they bring. I'm never going to use the kit, mostly due to the license issues, except to see how Josh E. approached certain problems.
