Milkshape plugin src shareing?
by Lukensteinz · in Torque Game Engine · 08/11/2003 (1:27 am) · 5 replies
I may have someone able to code a plugin for AC3D, but i cant find any .dts/.dsq format info to give him.
Am I allowed to let this person look at the Milkshape/Max plugin source to see if they can work from there?
Please let me know ASAP.
thanks.

Same thing. You can't send the source out.

The goal is to keep the IP that we licensees have purchased valuable by preventing it from being freely distributed. The assets and scripts aren't the IP, the binaries aren't the IP, it's the source code that's the IP... And therefore that needs to be kept carefully under check.
Or at least, that's my take. IANAGGE ;)

Basically, you can distribute binary versions of everything in the Torque SDK + scripts and assets needed to run them, but not the C++ source. The goal is to keep the IP that we licensees have purchased valuable by preventing it from being freely distributed.
