Yep, you can use it even for commercial stuff...
That's version 1. I suspect 2 will be licensed with a fee, or something :)

It also is a hog on the cpu time. 28% of a 60fps cycle. Thats a bit much but it seems pretty nice. Too expensive for my game though.

For my CPU it was pretty good, the 20 rag demo took about 10% at worst. I'm on a 1.8GHz CPU.

After they all stopped moving it still sat at 22% usage with everything stationary.
Muliple resets affected the cpu usage greatly. 5 run started at 45% and ended with 14% with everything stationary.
Considering that this is only useful for single player games it might not be so bad since the GPU's handle so much heavy lifting now.

This feels more like a marketing exercise than a genuine move to support the community. But rather noble of them anyway :)

"Stationary" is probably one of the most testing times for a physics engine, depending on how good it's auto-disabling code. It looks good, but without source it could be problematic. Personally I'd recommend ODE.This feels more like a marketing exercise than a genuine move to support the community. But rather noble of them anyway :)
