Last thing: I originally mistook Legends: Coming Of A New Age for another mod, but hey, what do you do. Legends looks to be recreate the speed of Tribes for the Torque engine. Still a very nice idea!

I think you need to appreciate the differences between Tribes 1 and Tribes 2 to see what is different about Legends. I don't think they were trying to be original, I think they were trying to recreate the Tribes 1 experiance.Which can only be a good thing!

Hence my comment on the shots...
Haven't had time to download and take a gander

I was under the impression that it was more original than that, incorporating a lot more RTS elements in there, as far as resources gathering and all that ?Hence my comment on the shots...

Uh...Legends IS Tribes. That was the goal.

Personally I would just find it strange that someone would build something using the same engine as the original. It's kind of like making Quake using parts of the Quake source. Other than saying "Look what I did" I'm not sure what the motivation for something like that would be but to each his own.

Got that right :)
We're not exactly out to completely copy Tribes 1 or 2. We just wanted to use that sort of gameplay and see what can be done with it to make it better. Besides, copying the game could get the lawyers angry, and we do NOT want that to happen, especially not at this stage.

So kudo's on the PA mention. I am anticipating legends with great excitement. It is my hope that we will see the "engineer" class fully developed in Legends as it was in the Shifter mod; so that I could score well in a fully supportive role (non forward combat).

I'm as excited about Legends as I was about Tribes2 (before it released). I have never been as satisfied with any FPS as I was with T1 (not T2).So kudo's on the PA mention.
