GG snapshot?

Why is my GG snapshot not accepted? I submitted one on August 1 and now we're August 3rd and another snapshot turns up. What's going on. I see no reason why it should be rejected, and if it is rejected, can someone inform me why? This happened with a resource of mine too last year... got no explenation for that one either.

There's a queue.

its just that it doesn't make any sense:
For 2 days there was no new snapshot, altough I submitted one... then, after 2 days another one is shown. Todays snapshot is numbered 617, the one before that 618, and mine 619, weird.
Anyway, I'm sure it'll show up tomorrow.

I submitted a concept art dev shot and it was not accepted... Is there preferential treatment to in game shots over concept art???

I doubt that you will get a response as to why your submission is rejected, this is simply because the GG guys do not have the time to sit there and write a response back, otherwise they would do nothing but responses and in turn end up accomplishing nothing. The only suggestion that I can give you in regards to IOTD submissions is try again and again and continue to show something new or cool each time you submit.
Also as the editor of the GameMechanic newsletter I feel that it is important to mention that we have a "development progress" section that is similar to the IOTD. You are more than welcome to submit to us your snapshots like this since you have not done so already.

Sorry to hear that your screenshot did not make it into the IOTD but you have to understand that as a user submitted article it can be removed or disqualified if someone at GG feels that it doesn't meet the required criteria.I doubt that you will get a response as to why your submission is rejected, this is simply because the GG guys do not have the time to sit there and write a response back, otherwise they would do nothing but responses and in turn end up accomplishing nothing. "Your DevShot has been rejected!"
Imho, it doesn't have to be a "full" mail where GG explains WHY they rejected it.
But that's just my opinion.

I have never submitted a DevShot, so none has been rejected, but I personally wouldn't mind receiving a "standard"-mail saying:"Your DevShot has been rejected!"

# Do not post more than one image per week.
# We prefer Game and Development screenshots, not renders from Max and Maya.
# Images without sufficient descriptions will be rejected.
# You will not be notified if an image is rejected.
That's on the submission page for a screenshot. If you work is concept art, and there's more stuff in the queue that is in-game shots, they will probably use the in-game screenshots I believe. The devshots thing is just more work for the GG crew on top of thier already packed schedule. I'd rather see them concentrate on other things rather than rejection letters ;-)

Be sure to read the following:# Do not post more than one image per week.

#We may actually take an occasional weekend off.
;-)
It's now the IOTD, btw.
