Sahara is a tech extension to Torque 3D 1.1 Beta 1, 2 and 3 engines (1.1 Final soon to follow) which lets you create more realistic game environments by generating naturally accumulated dirt, snow, dust or any other material over your game shapes. It is a successor to our Cliff Construction Kit. This thread is our official discussion thread.

Very cool Konrad. I probably won't be taking advantage of that, but it's very generous.

@Alain & others who are interested:
So the material name needs to be "base.cliff". Please try unique, interesting but natural shapes. If possible, please keep it lowpoly. Also, please scale it to around 30x30x30 units (Torque units) as applicable to the shape. (Just so that the user won't need to scale agressively to use these).
Thanks! Send me 3 of these (well, you could always send more, it goes more or less to charity afterall :) ) and have a bitgap.com account and I'm gonna set you up with Sahara as soon as I can (I'm in Europe, but I don't sleep, so no problem.)
Thanks! :)
Edit: If there are too many cliffs coming in, I might change the shape requirement to other kind of props made of stone - ie. old statue, monolith, etc.. but I intend to keep this opportunity open in the future.

Thanks Richard. To be honest, I too could use new shapes in our game, so it would work great for me. :)@Alain & others who are interested:

I was hoping to be able to ship it around the 13th of August which I couldn't. Right now it looks like it will be done sometime early September.
It's going to get a reduced price ($34.95 instead of $59.95) and this new version will also have an example on how to create dynamic weather effects (such as snow accumulating on a cliff slowly and then melting away when it's not snowing). Whether that example will be code only or a video tutorial is not yet decided, but I definitely want to show how it's done using Sahara.
I'll keep you guys updated.
