Maya to Torque animations ??

Just wondering if it is at all possible to use Maya to animate for TGE instead of Max?
Is there an exporter utility available or would it be feasable to make one?

We have an animator who wants to join the team but he's only familiar with Maya.

There is no exporter available for Maya at this time. There have been numerous people who have stepped up to say that they will create one, but as of yet they have not produced anything.

He might be able to create the animations and export them to FilmBox (FBX) and then have your Max guys add in all the TGE required nodes, link the model up to the skeleton (if it's not in the file that the animator gives you) and then export it. But you definately will have to make some consents to get this person into your team if you want him.

I've actually talked with Ernie Booth who is currently working on a Maya exporter and we (my team) are going to work together to get this exporter finished as soon as possible and will be posting it as a public resource when we've finished.
