Texture flicker if 2 objects are too close together.

I'm currently having some texture flickering problem. My character have a hat mounted on it, and because it is too close to the character's head, the engine seems like can't figure out which texture should render first and start to flicker.
I'm currently using TGEA 1.8.2. This doesn't happen in TGEA 1.7.1 using the same machine.
If anyone know what is the problem, please guide me.
