Havent looked into it but i believe it is due to the new driver. I will try it in some commercil games then maybe I will drop down to a lower version until they fix it.

I just updated to the detonator 53.something drivers and am now having a lot of camera lag in the missions that were not there before. Noticably choppy.Havent looked into it but i believe it is due to the new driver. I will try it in some commercil games then maybe I will drop down to a lower version until they fix it.

I tested alot, switching works on all version before
1_2_0 i even tried the demoversion get the same error.
So something have changed and only gg knows what the change is.
This is not a dx version or driver version problem ,
this is a torque error.

ok - so whats the bottomline?
Everyone should use opengl?
Ok- thats fine with me (cause opengl works on my 2 computers) - but... opengl is not working for alot of my beta testers!
What is the best solution? - what do I tell my beta testers to try? Is it possible for my customers to get it to work with their video cards eventually - or do some videocards simply not work?(even with latest drivers, etc.)
MAIN QUESTION: do all videocards have the ability to support opengl drivers?
Thanks

When I get back from GDC I will try to take a look at this. Realize that getting the old D3D wrapper to work is not a high priority right now, with the announcement of the TSE (which has full native support for both DX and OGL).

I have seen problems with WinXP and nVIDIA cards when using the drivers that XP installs from the windows update site.

Ben, the DX problem could still be the same as Lores problem was. And that is on your todo list for Torque.

People still like choices, and there are some cards that handle DX better and faster than OGL, though maybe not in Torque because the DX support is scarce. With TSE people might start using DX more. I know one of my artists was scared to hell to try our game in OGL mode because his ATI card normally causes all sorts of problems if he uses OGL in most of his modelling apps. He can't even run blender without his system reverting to the stone age.
Interestingly enough our Torque game ran fine under OGL on his system, and I was extremely happy with Torque at that point :)

Well my point was just that we really don't want to remove DX support :) I guess your post made it sound like "Well who cares if DX doesn't work? Everyone can use OpenGL" and I Was just trying to say that isn't always true. Though like I said, i've been impressed big time by how well OGL and Torque work. Many people who normally have OGL nightmares have no problems with Torque.

John - Ah... I thought your post made it sound like, OGL works for everyone, why should we worry about DX? :)
