Pay for code, art, etc

Just floating an idea around...
Theres a website or three where you post a question of any kind, and registered users bid on providing an answer. Generally, answers run around $5-10, and many times are provided by experts in whatever field you questioned.
I think this could work here, or at least on a linked site.
Many times a question asked here is solved within minutes by our pros. Other times you'll get answers that just leave you saying 'huh??' And for some of us, the answer just reminds you how little you truly know about coding, modeling, animating, etc.
Few of us can afford paid coders on our project, but an occasional stumbling block may be affordable.
Erik posts: I need shaders! (not really:P)
------------------
1: Pat wilson offers a patch for $25
2: Badguy offers snippets for $15
3: Melv May offers to fly to your house and code it for $1000
4: Daniel Nielson offers to help for free, providing he can also add it as a resource, and post a snapshot $0
------------------
___ Withdraw offer
___ Accept offer #__ (billed to your Paypal account)
Anyone else think this could work out for us?

I don't know... with pizza AND a video card you might find half of the community living in that box... :)

Naw, Im not in it for the money.

Badguy: Just the pizza and video card?
Erik: I think the general idea is that we dont want to have to start paying eachother. Better off trading code with others. You help them, they'll help you.

Bob: Well, if it attracts half the community, you can work on the AI, Dot3 Bumpmapping, Shaders, and anything else I may need. :)Badguy: Just the pizza and video card?

You can then force him to code whatever you want. If he does not comply, threaten him with bacon crisps, nescafe and big brother.

Lol. Make it a nVidia FX5900, a donner kebab (no salad), and a book on the latest game programming techniques, put it in an air conditioned area with a kettle and some ladies thrown in for good measure, and you will catch the Melv monster within the hour. You can then force him to code whatever you want. If he does not comply, threaten him with bacon crisps, nescafe and big brother.

Code-for-art swaps can work out pretty good. Lots of artists who need coding help and coders who need art help. My current partnership starte that way. Eventually we realized that it made more sense to all work together on the same project rather than trading art-for-code on two projects.

LOL...
Sorry Sebastien I'm not that kind of guy. ;) But if its AI and team code you want I'm sure I could post something.

Where's this thread going? :S

It would seem this might be more useful than the Help Wanted ads. =/ Or is that where it should be posted?
-Eric, who will trade art for psychiatric counselling. ;-)

So why not throw in another option that allows for trading? It would seem this might be more useful than the Help Wanted ads. =/ Or is that where it should be posted?
