hello,
i downloaded tgb pro 1.7.5 and installed it on my mbp 17"/snow leop 10.6.3. the folder has a red stop sign on it, and when i try to open the folder to access the app it gives me the message...
"the folder "torquegamebuilder-1.7.5-pro" can't be opened because you don't have permission to see its contents."
i am logged in as admin level. so it should not be indicating this. and ideas why this is unusable for me?
thanks,

is the only difference between tgb and tgb pro the access to the source? if so, i'll try dl'ing the tgb binary instead of the tgb pro file.
other than that, i don't know what to do besides wait on melv for t2d.

i don't have anything exotic setup on my laptop. i have all the correct permissions because i can install other programs fine. this is the first time i've encountered this. i even tried the ole' windows fix all of restarting my laptop, but still the same results. the permissions from the 'get info' window are all grayed out.is the only difference between tgb and tgb pro the access to the source? if so, i'll try dl'ing the tgb binary instead of the tgb pro file.

I encountered this while testing. Just follow Ronny's suggestion of Get Info and adding the permissions. It has something to do with how a Mac is setup, possibly when there is more than one user on it. As I've been told by other Mac users though, this can be expected behavior depending on how the Mac is set up.

i've never had any other users on my laptop, i have no special setups/filters, and every other version of tgb works.

i guess i was not clear. when i download the installer, i can access the 'get info' for that and it is setup correctly, read/write access. when i then activate the installer it creates the folder, but it has a red 'non-accessible' icon on the folder. when i open 'get info' for the folder, everything is grayed out and cannot be changed. but the permissions are correct read/write.i've never had any other users on my laptop, i have no special setups/filters, and every other version of tgb works.

You have to click on the padlock icon in the bottom right corner of the info window and input your password in order to alter permissions.

thanks scott, once i hit the lock, i could add myself as a read/write user and it opened.
it is still using too high a screen resolution, so i can't see the menu bar on top. is there an easy remedy for this as well.
once again, thanks.

You should be logged in as a regular user while installing (preferably the first user created, as it has all the correct permissions when admin access is required). Then the program should be possible to run without asking you for an admin password. Try installing again, but delete the current installation first.
You can also try changing the permissions, of course. Right-click the app, Get Info, make yourself have read/write access, and apply to all enclosed folders.
Since you have source access, you could try compiling that, too :)
