is there a way to give a variable, say a position, a plus minus grace. as in if position is X +- 3 units, ok?

If the game works and you get it on the AppStore then I'll be the first to congratulate you.
Good luck.

I have not commented on anything to do with mAbs or your previous observations of similarity between two completely different functions so seriously, no need to clarify it for me.Quote:I could say as I see them as similar, in visuals, so is loadLevel(), getPosition()... but why we're at it, I have no idea how these are similar apart from being functions. I chalk this up to you not fully understanding return values, arguments etc as well as not having a good programming vocabulary so you compare things in an aesthetic/subjective way.

Quote:My first app is 90% complete in game playI must admit that I'm amazed that you've got so far with some of the basic and fundamental questions you still ask but I will be sure to download your app and give it a whirl when/if you get it out there.

Yes it was simply an aesthetic. If you have not guess my background is art, music. Tho I have noticed in 10 years or programming music, sequencing beats as in many things there are patterns. Usually when you follow them they work.
Anyhow, I will let you know for sure. I am quite happy with my work and am proud with what I have done and am doing and do look to learn more so my programming becomes much easier as I think. I believe they probably are ways to do what I am doing, but as any pro would say or do in much less.
Less is more I guess, and less time, which I am all for.
Keep you posted.

There's no use in repeating it, because you'll just skip over it *again*.
You say we need to be "big boys" and move on. Well, I was trying to be a mentor. But I'll just move on now.

You are *still* missing my point. There's no use in repeating it, because you'll just skip over it *again*.

Melv, this all stems from a bad joke. if you need me to say it, William is correct, they are not similar. But for me, as a beginner still, it was refreshing to see how I could relate something I did not yet understand, mAbs() with t2dVector(), which I did. If you want to take it that far tho I could say as I see them as similar, in visuals, so is loadLevel(), getPosition() etc. Nothing big I do understand and I do require/would like your help when it is asked and you are free to give it.
I am not looking for any problems. I am not trying to isolate myself nor anyone else. Just a simple guy with some good ideas. With Torque and it's community, this is achievable. My first app is 90% complete in game play. I am now just working on Splash screens, music triggers and packing it into the iPhone iPad, iPod etc.
Cheers.
