is there a way to give a variable, say a position, a plus minus grace. as in if position is X +- 3 units, ok?

I appreciate that.

Melv, this all stems from a bad joke. if you need me to say it, William is correct, they are not similar. But for me, as a beginner still, it was refreshing to see how I could relate something I did not yet understand, mAbs() with t2dVector(), which I did. If you want to take it that far tho I could say as I see them as similar, in visuals, so is loadLevel(), getPosition() etc. Nothing big I do understand and I do require/would like your help when it is asked and you are free to give it.

I am not looking for any problems. I am not trying to isolate myself nor anyone else. Just a simple guy with some good ideas. With Torque and it's community, this is achievable. My first app is 90% complete in game play. I am now just working on Splash screens, music triggers and packing it into the iPhone iPad, iPod etc.

Cheers.

I have not commented on anything to do with mAbs or your previous observations of similarity between two completely different functions so seriously, no need to clarify it for me.

... but why we're at it, I have no idea how these are similar apart from being functions. I chalk this up to you not fully understanding return values, arguments etc as well as not having a good programming vocabulary so you compare things in an aesthetic/subjective way.

I'm not trying to put you in a bad light either.

I must admit that I'm amazed that you've got so far with some of the basic and fundamental questions you still ask but I will be sure to download your app and give it a whirl when/if you get it out there.

If the game works and you get it on the AppStore then I'll be the first to congratulate you.

Good luck.

Thanks Melv, Madd props as they say in the hood.

Yes it was simply an aesthetic. If you have not guess my background is art, music. Tho I have noticed in 10 years or programming music, sequencing beats as in many things there are patterns. Usually when you follow them they work.

Anyhow, I will let you know for sure. I am quite happy with my work and am proud with what I have done and am doing and do look to learn more so my programming becomes much easier as I think. I believe they probably are ways to do what I am doing, but as any pro would say or do in much less.

Less is more I guess, and less time, which I am all for.

Keep you posted.

You are *still* missing my point.

There's no use in repeating it, because you'll just skip over it *again*.

You say we need to be "big boys" and move on. Well, I was trying to be a mentor. But I'll just move on now.

Big boys, sir, William. please I am sorry if you mis interpret. there is nothing wrong with being a big boy as its what I aspire to be!

oh wait too late.

I am going to be a big man and say "Don't worry about it!!!"

Cheers!
