These games are the one in the same right? Why the name change?

I really hope that's not a hack! I don't see the GG logo there or anything.

You dont spose they brought the game and are now selling it ?

I havnt played the full game but that definetely looks like torque.

Theres 0 Mention of Garagegames anywhere either.

Amazing.

I wonder what the story is...

This is definitiv Marble Blast. Have a look on the last screenshot on this site:
www.digitalriver.com/dr/v2/ec_MAIN.Entry17c?SP=10007&PN=5&CID=0&SID=14268&PID=52...
Take a look under this "finish here" sign. There's the GarageGames Blast Icon...

I think GG should have a look at this.
And maybe you can give a little statement to inform us, what's going on there?

The 'gadgets' one pictured next to it is chain reaction by the looks of it.

hmm....

if they are legitimately re-selling it under a different name, how could they be selling it for cheaper?

i'd definately like to see what happens in reguards to this.

They aren't are they? It says 70-odd levels so it looks like Marble Blast rather than Marble Blast Gold.

If the rest of their site can be taken on face value they are making a fair amount of money selling via USA retailers etc, it would be incredulous to believe they buy a copy of a game and repackage / resell it - I could believe it of a company situated in a less well protected ip / (c) place.

I can see why - if they sell well as "egames" - they'd want to repackage a game with their name if they were selling it...especially if it's a box going on a shelf. Activision et al do pretty much the same thing.

They aren't selling the games for cheaper. They cost 4 cents more on egames.

If these people were just stealing games, why would they steal both of GarageGames' major games at the same time?

Looks pretty legitimate to me, so unless GarageGames says otherwise I'd assume they simply cut a deal with egames to publish these in a different market. Changing the names for a new market/new publisher is somewhat odd, but not completely unheard of.

Interesting is that right next to it is "Gadgets" which appears to be Chain Reaction. Does GG have any comments on this at all?

Yes, EGames is redistributing Marble Blast under the name Marble Blaster and Chain Reaction under the name Gadgets. They are doing the US box channel distribution for those two titles... don't worry, it's legit :)

But their website doesn't mention anything about box sales.. It's downloadable title sales, did GG's assign them Electronic Distribution rights along with the North American retail rights?

As an indie developer I'd be upset to suddenly find out that the company I just signed over a good portion of royalties per sale to for boxed distribution started doing Electronic Distribution of my title. Especially if I already had an Electronic Distribution partner with better royalty rates, and had not specifically granted them Electronic Distribution rights.

What's with the victim syndrome around here? Everyone is always jumping to the worst possible conclusions about everything.

George is right.

Reading the forums is getting really depressing, I rarely bother reading them anymore. I don't want to step on any toes, but it seems like more than half the posters are trolls, intentional or not.

This website stole this look, this website stole this game, this engine stole that other engine's ideas, this dev screenshot stole this content, etc etc etc. Jumping to conclusions and over-reacting is being made into an art form.

Most of the image of the day posts end up as flames. In one of the recent ones people got on the guy for stealing the RW interface, even AFTER I posted saying we were fine with it. Yet the flames continued.

It seems like people here have a very difficult time giving others the benefit of the doubt for some reason. Intelligent people are often cynical, but this is getting just plain rediculous.

Is that the worst possible conclusion you've come to? (Sounds like a pink floyd remix dance album)
