I looked for an email address but couldn't find one. I think they lack one for a reason.

"Picture yourself in the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001. Will you survive?" - 911 Survivor the Game

Unbelievable.

Whilst i do agree it is in extreme poor taste. The one thing i do appluad them on is not making you assume the role of a terrorist.

At least there taken the survivor role.

Having said that its still in extreme poor taste

If you don't like it, don't buy it or follow it's development...I know I won't.

The problem you will run into here is that any bitching and moaning about a game like this, because it offends your sensibilities is that the same argument can be made by proponents of banning things like FPS's, GTA3, et al. because they are offended by them.

If we then come back and argue that they don't understand games and all the other valid counterpoints that have been made they just need to look at posst on a game development site by developers making the same points they are making to find comfort in their own narrow-mindedness or a den of hypocrisy if we try to argue their points in future.

In cases like this, I like to take the advice of Dr. Marvin Monroe when he said "How can you be against one form of freedom of expression like Itchy and Scratchy but for it in the case of our big naked friend here?"

I actual broke out in a cold sweat when I saw that site...

His email is jefftcole@earthlink.net (you gotta go to the home site and look at the flash intro for it).

Obviously, all the people I know who was "down there" that day will be getting his email. Reason being: While I agree that people have the freedom of speech, that does not mean that they have the freedom from hearing the response to that speech. And this speech, while protected, is completely tasteless, and merits a response. Maybe not everyone will agree(like this guy), but I guess it was one of those "had to be there" moments, and they weren't there.

EDIT: Fixed email address posted...

Naked friends good, 911 Survivor bad.

I don't think the developers should be imprisoned or anything. That doesn't mean they don't deserve some, um, feedback.

Yeah, it's not illegal, nor should it be, but it's way beyond ridiculous and deserves feedback...

It doesn't seem a world of difference away from any game / media based on (a) real world event(s) where people are killed or injured, does it?

I can think of a load of games, films, magazines and books that probably get the response "cool" rather than cold sweats.

I guess it depends on the relationship between the offended and those that die / get injured [with, perhaps, a factor for length of time added in - although I wouldn't be surprised if a module for the kaboom industries cluster bomb doesn't appear that lets you motion capture data for direct implementation into the game of the war]

When you play ET the axis can win, but it's just a game.
