Characters and Clothing, help please.

Hey all, I have made a few characters in my game, now each character's clothing doesn't really change. Except the main character, his clothing changes from simple day clothes to a suit to some other things. My problem is I only have the character in the day clothes now would I have to remake my model with the suit to get that result or what?

ANY ideas would be nice!

It may be possible to use link points to mount the characters clothing to it. Use could have a point for each item needed, but this means you would have to program a behavior or function to change these clothes. Maybe a gui could be used also...

Animation may be effected by using this method, but link points may be able to be changed/updated.

Just an idea...
