Tribes IDE?

by thamonkey king · in Torque Game Engine · 05/21/2003 (8:26 pm) · 8 replies

Hey guys,
Just wondering where I put Tribes IDE once I've downloaded it. The instructions on the site refer to Tribes 2, and says to put it in the "base" dir - which I can't find...

thanks,
joel

It doesn't matter where you put it. I keep my copy in a safe directory, far away from my Torque files. My project file however, is in /example. It could also be kept in /example/fps if you don't need to easily edit the common files.

thanks for your help - unfortunately, my computer's been down for awhile. So, I've got my Tribal IDE file in the /example/fps directory, now how do I run it? Should I launch it from within Torque, or outside of Torque - since yours is far away from your Torque files...

thanks again,
joel

Click tribalide, create new project, save in /example/fps, allow it to import all .cs files below the directory.

alright, I think I've got it now. I didn't realize it was an archived file - I was trying to run the compressed file!(I've never heard of a .v12 file) I won't get a chance to really get into it and run it until tonite, but I think I can figure it out from here. This community rocks! Thanks for your help and patience, Erik!

ok, I'm sorry man, but I am really lost. I compiled tribalIDE in MS VC++ but now what? how do I run it? I'm sure I must be pretty annoying by now, is there maybe instructions somewhere that I'm missing about how to start scripting? Or maybe I'm just missing something really obvious...

thanks once again,
joel

Hi Joel,

Look here:

It explains how to set up TribalIDE and how to use it for debuging

hey sergei,
thanks - thats perfect - I've been looking for something like this for a while now. I wish this site had more resources like this - maybe one day when I understand what I'm doing, I can write some.

thanks again,
joel
