Something pathetic

by Ben Heath · in General Discussion · 05/21/2003 (6:31 pm) · 19 replies

Okay, I live in Sacramento, CA. Now, Sacramento is... dumb. It's boring. Downtown Sacramento was a bit promising a few years ago, but now it's just a place to get mugged.

Okay, the punchline: Down the street from me, there's a big ad for an air conditioner that says, "ONE REASON WHY YOU'RE COOLER THAN L.A." Oh man.

Pitiful? Yes. Pitiful.

(How many cities have a road called Manlove Boulevard?)

congradulations Ben, you just won the most general award, this is the general discussion forum, and you by far just said one of the most general game unrelated things possible... I tip my hat to you sir

unless anyone can somehow start a discussion about eskimo midget hunting, I think ben will stay champion

Hey Ben,

I lived in the Sacramento area for almost 7 years. Whereabouts do you live?

He lives in Sacramento, CA, just down the road from that big air conditioner advert.

Ben, it could be worse, you could live in Yuba City like me. I have to drive to Sac just to see people that aren't either underage or old and dying. Consider yourself lucky.

Yeah, it could be worse, but Sackie is so easy to make fun of.

Eric: Yup. I'm the champ. :)

I live in Santa Rosa (1.5 hours away). Luckly that's distance enough to say I like the weather and blue skies. Though I am sure I can envy your cheaper rent and utility bills there in the ol' capitol. :)

Cheaper rent! Well some of it might be less than what's in your area, but that's the big reason why I'm gonna leave Sac when I can. It's too expensive. California, in general, is too expensive.

I'd much rather move to Texas. I love Texas.

$1300 per month(2 bed, 2 bath, 1 car port, no frills)... And I am qualified for low income rent to boot. Ooof!

I live in Sacramento and really enjoy it for the most part. I've been here about 4 or five years and lived in Las Vegas before that, and in Orange County before Vegas. There's plenty to do here, the people are pretty nice overall, and it's not the desert.

Oh, and Jeff. I live in downtown (couple blocks from the capital) and pay $1350 for a two bed, two bath, street parking place. UGH!

*blinks*

Dear gods... I live in New Zealand... The highest rent I've ever had to pay was $350 a week for a 5 bedroom, quarter acre section... And that's New Zealand dollars. (Half that to get US$)

And these are low-rent places? o.O'

The only way you can call Sacto hot is if youve never lived in a humid AND hot place. Sacto has a dry heat, after growing up in Georgia you know what hot really is.

I lived in Roseville years ago, I'm glad I moved. You can get a 3 br house for under eight hundred a month here in South Carolina.
