MilkShape LOD

I am wondering what it would require to add LOD support to the milkshape exporter. I haven't had too much time to pick through, but the short time I have looked I couldn't find anything on the DTS format or what needs to happen for LOD. Is there any documentation on the DTS file format? How was the current exporter made? I'd love to see the milkshape exporter progress in development, and if I can help (meaning it's something I can tackle) I will.

On a side note... anybody know if you can compile win32 dll's (milkshape plugin) using MSYS and GCC3?
